9 months ago |Hi all
If you look on the Sony site. Just check what some of the regional stores are pricing at. Nuneaton guilford and Enfield are 3 that come to mind.
They seem to have the A77 @ £1299 or £1349 with lens.
I would expect you to be able to negotiate your price with your local store and your local store price matching.
Mike
8 months ago |Actually they offer the A77 for £929.99.

Maybe they’re going to fix the clicking first.

8 months ago |Nex 5N £399 body only…

Choose Nuneaton Store.
Can’t believe the variation in pricing between Sony Stores. I can only advise that you take a screenshot and quote the amount in your local store.
If you don’t ask – you don’t get, right?

8 months ago |I think I know why – Sony are holding a hands on day at their HQ in Weybridge with “unreleased” Nex and SLT cameras. I’m guessing they were planning on holding off until after then….. Jessops told me beginning of October last week just before the “click” raised its head.
Who knows now….? Guess I’ll just do what Brits do best: Wait patiently, moan a lot but ultimately do nothing.

8 months ago |What the hell why is everywhere else but Japan getting stock? I was hoping that living in the land of Sony would mean reasonably early availability, but it seems that all retailers are October 14 and no earlier here.

8 months ago |Oh dear me again!
Just to let you guys know. I’ve seen the A850 @ £1799 and the A900 @ £1999 at the Tottenham Court Road store here in sunny London.
I haven’t seen a better price for the Body anywhere else. If someone finds better – please let me know.
Ta very much.

Limited stock at certain stores.
I know we are talking A77 here – but FF at discount prices/end of line – very tempting?

8 months ago |link to amazon.cn doesnt show any A77s, sonystyle.cn or whatever its called has them though at 9899 Yuan. Anywhere else in China have them? 899 GBP is a great price!

8 months ago |On Amazon.co.uk its listing the A77 body only from Amazon themselves at….get this! £1981.88!!!! thats over £800 above RRP. Disgusting rip-off or what!?!?!
Paul C
8 months ago |Yeah – seen that – very funny.
I would however suspect Amazon to be one of the best in price for the A77. Generally, everything I see on there is cheaper than anywhere else. We can only wait and see.

8 months ago |Have it already.
JPG(much)better than I expected. Hope the Lightroom will support it’s Raw file soon.

8 months ago |Jack, do you mean jpg on-camera? And functions that automatically remove noise are perhaps deactivable? Is it possible for you to share some 1600-3200-6400 ISO jpg on-camera rightly exposed, not overexposed and then corrected in post…!

8 months ago |I already set the NR to low, I found the NR is noticeable kick-in in around ISO400 when viewing 100%;
But interestingly, I found I can use much lower shutter speed for sharper image (say 1/25s), compare to A900.
I will try to upload some picture later tonight.

8 months ago |Thank you!
And what about buffer? At 12 fps it’s full in about 1,5 seconds (18 shots, if I remember correctly); and at 8fps does change something? Is it really necessary to buy some really expensive SD in order to use successfully continuous shots and not to have the camera “locked” for a lot of seconds, or not? In a few words… is buffer a real limit? Thank you again!

8 months ago |I’ve tried to use the Scandisk class 10 16GB SD card. It is much slower when compare to the 8GB MS Duo card given as a package of the A77.
The SD card need to write about 2 second, before I can magnify the image.
I only tested to use the 12fps once when I got it from the shop. Will do further testing tonight…

8 months ago |@Jack_Young: I dont know much about the MS Duo cards, but you say that the MS Duo card may be faster than comparable SD cards?
i know that the MS cards are made for Sony but do you (All you other Sony experts, fell free to join in) think that for example the “16GB SanDisk Memory Stick Pro Duo Ultra 30M/S” could be faster than “16GB SanDisk Extreme Pro SDHC Kort 45MB/s” even though the SD card has better performance on paper?
Thank you!

8 months ago |And I tested the Sigma lens (180F3.5 macro) is usable on the A77 body, while it cannot be use by the A55.
Clifton
8 months ago |interesting, I have already had my 2 sigma lenses AXX’ed, I probably wasted my money!
What camera is the A77 replacing Jack_Young?
Jack_Young
8 months ago |Not really replacing.
I now own the A900 and A55.
What attracted me is the A77 can do better video compare to A55.

8 months ago |I’m very interested in this also, I have the MS Pro HX (newer version) and a Sandisk SD Extreme Pro, would love to know which will perform better.
JornJ
8 months ago |it would be great if the Sigma lenses would fit without trouble on the a65/a77 (without the update from sigma that is).

8 months ago |I hope Sony will keep making camera’s without concessions for photography purposes, next to mirrorless cam’s that excel in framerates and movie mode. I’d love to see a great successor for the A900, with lots of resolution, dynamic range and outstanding AF. Surely they should make a high end sports/movie camera as well, but I’d say they shouldn’t force it to combine the two.
Erational
8 months ago |That’s great about the A77, but is the A65 shipping out anywhere besides HK, yet ?
eagle8421
8 months ago |There is one store in Switzerland who says that they have the a65 in stock.
