3 months ago |The last Nex 7 firmware was disappointing ! Why making 16-50 lens correction and nothing for the 35mm, the 10-18mm and the 20mm ?? I’m not sure that the support product is adequate to an high-end camera !!!
I’m interested in new e-mount lenses, but I will think twice before, if the only way for having no vignetting, no distortion and no CA, is to change the body every 6 month !!!

Who needs caffeine to stay alert when, instead, you can come onto sonyalpharumors dot com for theses earth shattering revelations!

3 months ago |Sony doesn’t care about US market. You can buy NEX 5R with 16-50 pancake bundle anywhere in the world but United States…

3 months ago |Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, I wonder what the A58 will be like. Hopefully it will feature the nice OLED EVF of the A65.

3 months ago |Have you been living under a rock?
The A58 has been announced elsewhere. It doesn’t have the same OLED EVF as the A65/77, it is 800×600, not 1024×768.

3 months ago |More than any other NEX, this camera is the perfect upgrade for the compact camera crowd. A nice upgrade from the camera phones, this seems to be a very capable, low cost camera to get people into the NEX system. If it is a great performer, I dare say this could be Sony’s best selling NEX to date. And as much as people want to dump on the A58, it could do very well in the marketplace.

3 months ago |Or, it could be a miserable failure like the RX1. Just saying….

3 months ago |From all accounts, the RX1 is selling well and it certainly is getting a lot of accolades. It’s not the camera for you. We get that.

3 months ago |@Almazar80 – Agree. Power zoom is a familiar feature to them, also the low price. It’s kinda P&S with an interchangeable lens. Hope it sells well.
@SonyCyberPunk – RX-1 didn’t fail. It sells well according to Sony. Otherwise, the price will drops, good for us.

3 months ago |Does anyone, and I mean ANYONE, who checks rumors on the latest NEX camera really care about this entry level cam. Seriously, soccer moms an unite all they want around this low end offering. It’s just my opinion, but I think we’re wasting our time on this low end consumer stuff (collectively).
We should concentrate our efforts on the higher end spec’d models and let the info trickle down through Sony to the low end crap. How’s about this….
Fix the NEX 7 update so I don’t have to spend an hour working up a Jimmy-rig to eliminate the the wobble on the dang tripod mount on my ball head quick release plate! Fudge!

3 months ago |If this news doesn’t appeal to you, then don’t read it. No one is forcing you to care about anything and believe it or not, not everyone may share the exact same interests in the exact same gear as you. Lighten up.

3 months ago |I liked it because it’s so small and compact. Plus the 180 degree flip screen is fun. I like taking photos for fun. Maybe you should try to take photos for fun too. You know, instead of sitting around on internet forums and waiting for specs on high end gear so you can buy more lenses and accessories even though you can’t take a decent picture…
SonyCyberPunk
3 months ago |Oh… and one more thing:
Make some dang primes that perform as well as my Sigma 2.8 19 & 30′s at the same price. What a shame that my camera and sensor rock beyond the image quality of a 5DIII but the tripod mount and lenses suck worse than a point and shoot. Get a freaking clue Sony, DANG IT!
Almazar80
3 months ago |You mean you want inexpensive lenses that Sony won’t be making money in because the cost of a higher speed lens with OSS should be the same as the excellent but not as well made Sigmas? Good business model.
SonyCyberPunk
3 months ago |The Sigma 30mm f2.8 is optically the best performing lens on the NEX 7. It’s also the sharpest, period.
For it’s focal length, the Sigma 19mm f2.8 is also optically the best performing lens on the NEX 7.
Again, why can’t Sony do this?
