11 months ago |For the same price, I’d rather grab the Oly E-PM1 w/ lens kit ($300 at B&H refurb with 1yr warranty) & a Panny 20mm f/1.7 for $322 at Amazon. A much brighter & faster combo than Sony’s pricey point-n-shoot. Oh yeah, FASTER FOCUS & BIGGER SENSOR.

Me
11 months ago |If you want an Olympus or a Panasonic, what are you doing on the Sony Alpha Rumors website? It’s not OlympusRumors.com or PanasonicRumors.com

11 months ago |If your main priority is having your dinky camera to fit in your pocket, instead of taking excellent pictures for what $650 will buy, then by all means… live with that inferior RX100 sensor over HALF the size of M43 sensor.
My coat pocket will suffice, thank you.
JonasM
11 months ago |Actually my main camera is the Sony NEX-7 with four Carl Zeiss lenses and that pisses on your M43 junk. I want the RX100 as an always-with-me and backup camera. It’s a brilliant for that purpose.

11 months ago |LOL! Your primary cam is a SLOW-FOCUSING Nex 7? YOUR FAILURE IS COMPLETE. It’s like owning a sports car on bicycle wheels. Thank you for making me laugh… really.

11 months ago |You mean to tell me I have just brought a camera with an inferior sensor that will not take decent photographs, cannot be used as a causal, party, candid camera and act as a backup to my a850 and a77. I wish you had told me earlier!!!!!

11 months ago |No, I’m telling you that $650 would give you a BETTER BACKUP CAMERA with BIGGER SENSOR & FASTER LENS. The RX100 is not that camera.

11 months ago |I am waiting eagerly for my order at B&H to be filled.
What I don’t know–and different reviews and photos have said different things–is if it will or will not have a little blue Zeiss badge. Can someone who has one tell us? And congrats for getting yours.
Barry

11 months ago |I need a shutter wire for RX100 , then this camera is my dream camera, or any person know is there’s any shutter wire for RX100 or remote shutter control alternative? Thanks!
(I usually need a long exposure and manual exposure control… so shutter wire is important for me…)

11 months ago |One thing that wasn’t really made apparent before this camera was released: the shutter is nearly silent.
I played with this little guy in store today and it is pretty amazing. The build quality is superb and the image stabilization is very, very good.

11 months ago |I am excited! Sony Australia have it listed as available but I want to look after my local camera shop (like he looks after me) and they haven’t sent any to him yet.

Hope that the Europeans get something for these exorbitant taxes/customs/VAT etc. etc… or is it just for government bureaucracy overhead?
JonasM
11 months ago |It’s us Europeans paying for giving the Americans the product at discount. The US is the most important market and we ohters pay for that.
