(SR2) Five new NEX lenses at Photokina? (maybe some of them ZEISS?)

Via mirrorlessrumors we learned that Klaus Schroff from Photozone maybe just made a “mistake” and unintentionally revealed that five new Sony NEX lenses will be announced in the next future! As you know he already reviewed the three known NEX lenses (The 16mm, the 18-55mm and the 18-200mm lens).
Inside a dpreview forum post he revealed that: “There’ll be 5 more NEX tests in the near future so we’ll have a better guidance about the quality of these Sony lenses …
”
UPDATE: Probably he is testing third party lenses on NEX cameras (using adpaters)?
Just a reminder. Few days ago we posted a rumor we received from 2 new sources (also NOT from out trusted sources). According to them Sony will show new Zeiss lenses for E-mount at Photokina in September. The sources couldn’t tell me if Sony will only show or also release the lenses. The design of the lenses will be based on current ZM lenses. Click here to check out all current ZM lenses availability and prices on eBay.
We from SonyAlphaRumors are 100% sure that Zeiss will make lenses for the NEX-system but we don’t know yet if they will show them at Photokina. If you know something about the future ZEISS lenses feel free to contact us using the form on the right! Thanks!
Reminder (SR = Sonyrumor):
SR1=probably fake rumor
SR2=rumor from unkown sources
SR3=50% chance it is correct
SR4=rumor from known sources
SR5=almost certainly correct!

2 years ago |I don’t see Zeiss jumping into the NEX anytime soon unless the NEX system is highly popular and profitable. And that might not be known for awhile.

2 years ago |Zeiss already announced they will get involved into E-bayonet. It was near the NEX 5 premiere as far as I remember.
So… the fact that they gonna make lenses ain’t a rumor. When? We gonna see

2 years ago |I’m wating for a Zeiss prime lens for NEX. Only than I’m going to buy the camera )
Rob
2 years ago |Have you seen the sales numbers from Japan yet? The number have been good – very good since three models were in the top 10 of DSLRs (I imagine NEX would be the top-selling camera if the numbers were unified). Zeiss has to be paying attention to that!

2 years ago |Can’t wait! Hopefully the prices won’t be higher than 300$(at least for those non ZEISS lenses)
acolyte
2 years ago |That’s unlikely.. But in a year the price will fall! :p
Any bets how long would it take for it to fall by, let’s say, $200?
I’m waiting for prices for NEX itself to drop

2 years ago |Acolyte < probably not in the next few years
The cameras will maybe fall 100 in price and then a new model is announced. I never saw a camera become more than 2 times as cheap.

2 years ago |Considering that their new 35mm and 85mm lenses for A are priced at 200 and 250$ respectively. They both have inbuilt AF motors, so it’s possible that the same lenses could be easily modified to fit E mount, and the cost should be kept as low as possible to attract customers that bought NEX but don’t want to spend fortune on new lenses.
although most probably they will show some kind of macro lens for beginners.
Hopefully they will show those two prime lenses along with 50/1.8 and 16-80/2.8-3.5.
That would give 4 lenses already so maybe 120/4

What sense would there be in stapling a large lens like that on a NEX camera? Isn’t the whole point to be relatively compact?
Joel
2 years ago |Well, let’s keep in mind the NEX 7 is supposed to be quite a bit larger… and it’s going to need some good, fast lenses.
Wishmaster
2 years ago |We’ll for one I wouldn’t mind having this kind of lens.
I know it would be much bigger than kit 18-55 but with this light and focal length I could live with it, and if I remember correctly sony patent it should retain f2.8 all the way up to 55mm(or something like that) so very good if you just one to go shoot some pictures with one lens.
This would truly be one great universal lens and the only zoom lens I would consider buying for NEX-5.

The instant that there’s a 24mm Zeiss prime for NEX, I’m buying!

2 years ago |He is testing Voigtlaenders MF lenses with a Adapter on the NEX.

The NEX system just got +10 to attraction!
Go Zeiss, go!
chris
2 years ago |24-35mm f1.4; 16-80 f3.5-5.6; 135mm f2.8 (f1.8 would be too large) and maybe a 50mm f2.8
chris
2 years ago |well maybe 24-35 f2

2 years ago |Most M lenses, including the Zeiss ZM lenses, have all kinds of color shifting, vignetting and corner smearing issues on NEX (and m4/3.) That’s why Leica had to jump through such hoops with the M9 sensor and its offset microlenses and lens coding. If the NEX Zeiss lenses are based off of the ZMs, they will have to be altered quite a bit.

2 years ago |Wow, lots of posts since the last time I checked. OK, so after all of the new product announcements this week, what is there left to announce at Photokina?
Thundercats
2 years ago |All you guys that have threatened to sell your Sony/Minolta gear and jump ship for the past year, let me know if you are selling your good glass.
I’m still hanging on to the A700/NEX-5 and waiting for the next FF body. In the meantime, it’s back to taking pictures…and video clips…

2 years ago |I’m excited to know that there will certainly be Zeiss lenses coming to NEX.
Now can we get a firmware update with in camera sharpening? I’m tired of sharpening them in photoshop when everything else is good to go straight out of the camera.

2 years ago |Only lenses which sell me NEX5 would be 30mm or 50mm (70mm) pancakes. NEX advantage is tiny body, if lens (18-55mm) is 3-5 times as tick, it nonsense, at least for me. Then I will go with A55 or so.
