(SR2) NEX-7 with kit lens for $1.200? Nex-5E coming too?

A new source just sent me the price for the NEX-7. It should be selling for $1.200 with kit lens. And the same soruce said there will be a NEX-5E too (price unkown yet). Both camera will be announced in late August. There will be also new NEX lenses (See Zeiss 24mm f/1.7). I ask my sources if they can confirm that. In the meanwhile keep in mind that this a rumor with low rating (SR2= 20-40% the rumor is correct).
Anyway, there is a new rebate ongoing on the Sony NEX-5! I guess Sony wants to clear the NEX-5 stock to get ready for the NEX-5E

If you aren’t happy here find another blog. This blog is relatively new and the earthquake/tsunami combo really affected the Japanese camera industry. Last I read, one of Nikon’s plants used for manufacturing FullFrame cameras was still out of commission as of the first week of July.
Andrea was spot on the Sony NEX C3.
You might want to join PhotoNut and go to Thom Hogan’s craptastic web blog. That way you can be guaranteed false information and complete speculation.
Ken Rockwell sells subscriptions to his crap blog. Perhaps you would be happier there.

18 months ago I paid $2,000 for an Alpha a850, It’s a wonderful camera with a 24MP sensor, with just okay high ISO performance
But reading posts on the site are about $1,000 being just too much money for a 24MP APS-C NEX or A77 with maybe the best low light performance around and maybe better image quality than my A850 for half the price.

Compared to Canon and Nikon Sony and its Zeiss lenses are almost cheap. And the new stuff, if it preforms as good as people here believe it will……………$1,000 to $1,200 USD is very good price!

What I keep on seeing is people complaining about Sony coming out with powerful products and then disabling video and other great features that come standard on Olympus, Panasonic and Canon competition. But if you ask me, the NEX cameras are a bit pricey for what you get. I mean, less moving parts, no prism, and no hotshoe….I’d rather buy an SLT. But in terms of demand and new technology, it’s fairly priced.

The image quality will get better on the small platforms in time, the Nex is proving that, but fast optics are not getting much smaller.
I love my fast f/1.4, 1.8 & 2.8 glass but it’s get hard after full day shooting.

Pricing wise, NEX-7 should be equal to A65, if not gets a single lens kit with the same price as the A65 body! It cost less to make and smaller body!
However if NEX-7 with NEW 16-50 2.8 kit is 1200… that will be the KILLER package

11 months ago |Same here. Given the relative prices of Nex-3 and a33, and of Nex-5 and a55, I think the price of an a77 will be higher than that of a Nex-7. So either A77 gets a higher price than rumors tell, or the Nex-7 gets a lower price. I personally hope for the latter

NEX 3, NEX 5, NEX C3 AND “5C” .
Since it’s a Sony bag and came from them I’m betting there is a NEX 5 soon to be released.
