(SR3) Manufacturing problem is cause for the NEX-7 successor launch delay?

Share

Soon Sony will announce the new RX100MKII and maybe a new FF RX and Mobile Cyberhsot camera too. But what about the NEX-7 successor? I just got an info form one source. It’s marked as “SR3” and I ask my trusted sources to check the info (Thanks!).

According to the source the cause of the delay of the NEX-7 successor launch is a manufacturing problem that was discovered with prototype runs of the “NEX 7 replacement camera”. Sony is now looking for an economical solution that does not compromise the camera. There seems to be no ETA yet (no defined release date).

The source also told me a surprising news: Design team focus right now is definitely on mirrorless A-mount cameras, not NEX, as E-mount is seen as a consumer product and A-mount as a top end product.

Thanks to the source!
