Yangcanggih (Click here) now also leaked the new Sony A37 camera! It looks like they got the images straight from a “secret” Sony presentation!

2 years ago |The flipout LCD is a VERY big improvement once you start taking pictures not only from eye height, but other positions as well.
Yong
2 years ago |Did they took out the “moving LCD” @ a35 and put it back in @ a37?
Lemon
2 years ago |Flip screen?
Matt
2 years ago |What is the Alpha concept item on the far right of the presentation slide?
zstan
2 years ago |Whooaaaa the a37 gets the a77′s screen! niceeeee
Nikko
2 years ago |that ‘s not the same as the a77
but the same as a550/a580
zstan
2 years ago |still looks better than the a65
Mikey
2 years ago |not quite like the a77 LCD- it looks like it doesn’t have the swivel bit. Still, this sort of camera is well served by a flip out screen to take advantage of the top notch live view experience.
hanugro
2 years ago |still see the in-body AF switch, so still have motor
Holyfan
2 years ago |Ok the A65/A57 flip screen is worse than A37? does that make any sense? I have an A65 and the flip screen cannot be flipped 180 when on a tripod, which severely limits its use and I was forced to get the A77 instead. The Nex F3 180 degree flip screen is also better than the 5N/7, especially if it has touch screen focus.
If the A37 has the A77 swivel screen then I would buy it, but I assume it will be limited in features such as no built-in focus motor and less adequate EVF….. It’s rediculous how Sony adds awesome new tilty LCD designs to the entree level ones, while the mid-range A65, A57 and Nex 5n gets bad LCD designs.
Nikko
2 years ago |it is not like the a77
it can only flip up and down
can turn clockwise/anticlockwise
Xavier
2 years ago |Yup pretty much look like the tilt screen design from the Sony DSLRs ala A550/ A580, in that case it will not tilt around, only upwards and downwards. Still useful for above the head and more comfortable from the ground shots though!

2 years ago |They returned to the a33 model concept, that’s a good thing…but after that…what? less introduction price?? they need to make this model competitive..!
Maxwell
2 years ago |That “product strategy” folder is good for new customers.
Because the names and numbers can get confusing for new buyers.
I am waiting for the new NEX-5N with built-in EVF I hope
Maybe next year? I am in no hurry.
Also hope for some new small good cheap primes.
Maybe a lens with retractable design like the Panasonic 14-42mm.
Andrew Lynch
2 years ago |Is that an alpha concept square sensor I see on the roadmap pic?
Matt
2 years ago |It does look like that doesn’t it? Interesting it is under the E-Mount side of the slide? Alpha body with E-Mount perhaps (with add-on A mount of course). Square sensor for multi aspect shooting, wish the slide wasn’t cut off there

2 years ago |I dont see no a99 for the high range lineup 2012 on the second picture
Dirk
2 years ago |@DonDony
That’s the most important news about that leaking. Nothing in the pro-range for 2012…
Olf
2 years ago |I think this slide do not tell the whole story. The slide says “strenghen middle / high range line up”, but it only show 2 new low end and one middle range models…
JB
2 years ago |Damn it. -1000
Z-man
2 years ago |Ahaaa .. It’s the a57 in a compact body
Me likey!
PW Rocket S
2 years ago |I hope they add the spirit level back in also. If they add in body WiFi I will definitely buy one!
Somehow I like the A35 form factor better than the A57…
Minoltian
2 years ago |Analyzing alpha series camera evolution, a99 definitely will not offer ISO up to 102,400. Probably it will only goes to 25,600; and will “only” have 19-25 focus points.
Mike
2 years ago |So what? Shoot RAW and push exposure +2EV. Voilà, ISO 102400.
Cyrus
2 years ago |Finally clear replacement of the a33/a55 !!!
But just highlights the non clear vision of sony.
A33 A55
Then A35 without tilt To reenforce low cost entry level
Then coming back to an A57 and A37 to have a differenciation.
Still A57 A65 not clear for me…
They should be named A56 a57
Or a65 a63
Or somethig similar
Sarmila
7 months ago |Well, thanks to Mr Peckman, Mr Romer, Mr Wolf, and Ms Spahn for at least porivding answers to the questions. Apparently the other candidates were too busy preparing to save us from the world to respond!

2 years ago |Does it has the built-in motor?
A.A.
2 years ago |The grip reminds of my A390 and also the A33/A35′s.
Terrific to see a tilting screen makes a comeback (the A33 had one, so did the last OVF entry-level A390). Nice simple layout for the rear controls, ala A390/A33.

2 years ago |It is as ugly as an a100, squary strange thing.
SonyBoy68
2 years ago |No, the design A37 is more compact. and It looks better !
Cyrus
2 years ago |Seems smaller than A33?!
Sloaah
2 years ago |From the product lineup image, it seems strongly implied that Sony will release a camera between the NEX 7 and 5n. It’s subtitled “Strengthen Middle/High range line up”, while the 5n is shown as being at the very bottom of the “Hobby” section.
Renato S.
2 years ago |I think that they should do that the NEX-5 series instead of creating another series, the NEX-5 series is the one positioned badly, besides the better construction, it doesn’t offer more buttons or dials than the NEX-3 series, I think it’s way too close to the NEX-3 and way too far from NEX-7. I don’t think that there is room for a new series, I think that it would kill either NEX-5 or NEX-7.
Maximus
2 years ago |The Body has an AF/MF switch –> it as the build in AF-Motor
Sky_walker
2 years ago |nice! good finding
Although the AF/MF switch is possible also on bodies without AF motor. Yet I choose to believe you are right
I’ll be nice selling point over competition.
Maximus
2 years ago |no, the switch is just fpr the inbody motor, lenses with own motors have their own switches as you can see looking at the attached lens. (Kit 18-55mm SAM)
And besides that it is just a small reason because Canon never used build in motors, Nikon has now everything with motor and Pentax won’t give up the motor.
Sky_walker
2 years ago |Sounds like a great news than: no BS like in Nikon entry level.

2 years ago |Might buy if I can sell my KM 5D, for wife.
Jay
2 years ago |Nice! Now excuse me while I go cancel my D3200 pre-order
Seriously, I find tiltable LCD far more useful than higher megapixels. I hope Sony kept the focusing motor though.

2 years ago |Hey–they forgot the lenses again!!! I knew there was something else necessary in taking good pictures!!!

2 years ago |Admin,
Any comment on the “2012 DSLR Product Strategy” picture?
That’s it for 2012?
admin
2 years ago |No of couse there is more!!!
Sky_walker
2 years ago |I thought it was obvious that picture shows only stuff up till release of A37. Nothing beyond that. No idea why ppl expect A99 on it.

2 years ago |Will this be the greatest camera in the history of mankind? I say YES! YES! YES!
Allan
2 years ago |So if the A77 is considered Pro or borderline, how come they didn’t add tethered shooting?
JesperMP
2 years ago |It has tilting LCD !
Wow, it has everything that I want
EVF, IBIS, PDAF, real grip, tilting LCD, a great sensor, lots of lenses available.
And it is pretty small for a camera with a traditional DSLR body.
And it will _probably_ be reasonably affordable.
Man, I am torn between A37 and NEX-F3. NEX-F3 does not have everything A37 has, but is is small enough to allways be with you.
So hard to chose.
hein3
2 years ago |They should make a NEX with the A-mount, that would be insane!
Rooru S.
2 years ago |errrmmmm get the LA-EA2 adapter and you got it!
By the way, NEX with A-mount would be useless because you’re giving no use of that empty box between lens flange to sensor distance. Unless they have realized how to put PDAF on sensor.

2 years ago |F3 with built-in flash, cool, now 5n is left alone.

Sky_walker
2 years ago |Ever seen A33?
Dirk
2 years ago |@Dal
You do like your nose touching the lcd-screen, don’t you
Dal
2 years ago |Point taken but for me it really spoils the overall size and dynamics of the camera body. Not to mention it looking quite odd.
sergei
2 years ago |Nice, this a37 has a much more usable tilt screen than the 57 and 65 models. It’s so much easier to use than a77, which needs to be extended first and then tilted up. a37 has a considerable “nose” room too:) The body seems robust and has curved shapes where you need them, looks like they put a lot of thought into it.
Nikko
2 years ago |the a77 one’s can be tilted up directly
Dal
2 years ago |Please ignore my post here.
SonyA77
2 years ago |Easier to use? Er, no. I’ll correct that statement for you “less flexible”.
voila
2 years ago |These pictures taken from Sony Partners Conference @Jakarta, April 27, 2012. The web says that a37 has auto portrait framing and 15 picture effect.

2 years ago |The leaking link has been removed.
The flipscreen alows to mount a grip. Very nice.
Rien Vesseur
2 years ago |No camera with a decent viewfinder anymore. Bummer. I hate the EVF on my A65, high ISO IQ is pretty bad, but used A580 are hard to come by and sell for more than new. Is Sony missing something here? Show me that Nikon 5100 again.
extra|ordinary
2 years ago |While I have no interest in buying either, I find the a37 to be a much more compelling release then the a57. I’m not entirely sure why, but the a57 just doesn’t make sense in the line up.
Danonino
2 years ago |Im sorry, but I have to be honest, is this the most uninteresting camera ever made?
SonyA77
2 years ago |I would imagine this to be VERY interesting to the first time buyer, assuming the price is competitive. This if for first time buyers, not people who already own a dSLR/SLT.
Almazar80
2 years ago |A highly competent camera with an 18-135mm lens (hopefully great quality) for $800? May be boring to some people, but it should sell well, given the price and spec. Heck, this would be a great backup to the A77 and 16-50mm f2.8.

Should you soccer moms & dads be at a game? Haha
Rix Carfon
2 years ago |Most important question. Does it support electronic first curtain? If not, then I’m afraid there would be too much shutter lag when using flash like the A55 and too much preflash delay causing lazy eyes.
