God I wish the a950 or the a750 will look like this, it is the best design I have ever seen. If Sony doesn’t take it up a notch with a more aggressive look to there pro dslr image, than they will not be taken seriously here in the USA. Image quality comes first, but as photographers we are aware of our cameras looks, weather they look good or god awful, and I wont speak for others but I will say that I believe most of us would like this very much for there next upgrade…..
It’s never ergonomic!
Grip seems very uncomfortable.
To grip this camera, wrist must be twisted excessively.
It’s almost impossible taking low angle shot.
They must be thinking about the nose only.
Wow… looks really impressive.
Thought the top buttons and AEL will be impossible to reach. Average reviewer would take away 40% for lack of accessibility to most of buttons
So, by assuming an unwillingness of the photographer to turn his head 20°, a manufacturer can add tremendous bulk to the camera and eliminate all eye-relief by raking the rear LCD outward and upward? I’m pretty sure the main LCD is already squished flat against the sensor assembly as it is.
Also, tilting the top plate LCD back toward the photographer is a good move, but it’s ergonomic advances are undone by the corresponding rotation in the grip.
I like the Flash Extension Concept, a very makeable one. They should approach Sony with these ideas, I think the Flash extending idea is a very acceptable production idea.
To me the grip looks more ergonomic/better. With a usual SLR the hand has to tilt forward to hold a vertical grip. With this the hand would remain straight and the camera rest on and against the fleshy pad of the thumb, making it more stable, and allow the thumb to press buttons without losing grip. Looks like a tiltable screen as well.
