New features and release time:

Capture One has decided to not disclose any info about the new features (I know this is odd). So if you wonder why the heck you should pay for a new version without knowing what you get…I can only give you one reason: The 20% discount that you get now and you will NOT get the day of the official launch!

The release date has not been announced but as usual expect the release to be between mid November and mid December.

The new Sigma 105mm FE lens is now in Stock for the first time

The new Sigma 105mm f/2.8 macro lens is now in Stock at BHphoto. Adorama. FocusCamera.

Marc Alhadeff tested the lens and concluded:

It would have been a perfect macro lens if we had hard stop for min distance and infinity and a magnification scale but Sigma has chosen to equip the lens with an Declick aperture ring quite useful for portrait and video, making it more versatile but less focused on the macro aspects in term of ergonomics

  • If macro ergonomics are very important for you then the Sony FE 90 f2.8 Macro G OSS has the edge over the Sigma.
  • If you give more importance to pure optical image quality then the new Sigma 105mm F2.8 DG DN (750 euros) and the Voigtländer 110mm F2.5 Macro Apo Lanthar (1200 euros – pure manual lens) are better choice
  • If you want the best quality for money then the new Sigma 105mm F2.8 DG DN is certainly the best one among all
  • In term of versatility Macro/portrait the Sigma is the best one

Reminder: Sony US launched a ton of new savings and you can see a full overview on this BH page. Some of them are here for the very first time like:

Here are the new Sony US lens deals:

The new 7Artisans 35mm f/0.95 APS-C E-mount lens is now in Stock at Amazon US/EU

The new 7Artisans 35mm f/0.95 APS-C E-mount lens is now in Stock at Amazon US, Amazon DE, Amazon UK, Amazon FR, Amazon IT, Amazon ES.

And Marc Alhadeff is the first publishing a full review of the lens with the following conclusion:

The 7 Artisans 35mm F0.95 (249$) for E mount (APS-C = A6xxx) is certainly the best 7 Artisans lens for Sony I have tested so far.
Build quality is top notch , price is very reasonable for a F0.95 lens (249$) specially when you compare it with the Mitakon 35mm F0.95 Mark II (649$) that does not do better globally (even less in term of color rendering)
The sharpness is already good wide open and you can get perfectly sharp eyes or object details at f0.95 with a very good contrast. Background blur is very creamy in most cases and color rendition is excellent
A must have at that price
