This is now the lowest price I have ever seen for the A77. You cna get it for $1,838 with 16-50mm kit lens at Amazon (one left). And for $1,238 you can buy the A77 body only again via third party reseller at Amazon (plenty of them in Stock). Just a reminder. The A77 successor will arrive in mid-late 2013 only. And no other APS-C SLT model will be announced this year. So these price drops have nothing to do with a possible replacement.

As you see it costs much less than the official Sony VG-C77AM Vertical Grip (here at Amazon). Question is, does it work at least nearly as good as the official grip?
