Ivar:I stumbled on a video of magnum photographer and legend Eli Reed on a promotional video for South Korea photographing with Sony A7 series camera’s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6-r9ZJzO4s. There are more Magnum legend promoting South Korea but he is the first I see with Sony. It’s great to learn from the pro’s. Have fun

Samys: “Sony expands the ability to test drive and use their equipment at an upcoming shooting event at a local Malibu Vineyard with Samy’s Camera in Los Angeles on May 17th.  A Sony Artisan will be in attendance to provide guidance and assistance to achieve the best image results.  With the recent introduction of additional new full frame lenses the a7 series cameras will continue to gain momentum and be the choice over traditional DSLR’s.  The web link to participate in this shooting event is below. http://samysphotoschool.com/courses/malibu-wines-landscape-photography-workshop/

NAB 2015: EXCLUSIVE! Carl Zeiss Announces Batis AutoFocus Lenses
from Clint Milby on Vimeo.

HDSLRshooter posted that Zeiss interview about the new Batis lenses. Some key info:

1min10sec: Sony is moving from APS-C to FF.
1min20sec: Loxia have been really well received. We cannot keep them in Stock right now.
2min40sec: 85mm Batis is designed to match the 55mm FE. It has fantastic image quality.

Zeiss makes it clear that Sony’s focus right now is on Full Frame. But certainly they didn’t mean APS-C is done :) The A6100 will be announced soon and I expect it to be a great camera. But I hope Sony will soon release some proper E-mount APS-C lenses too.

Mattia Abe Abeni:A7s in APS-C Mode can still produce some very beautiful looking images. This was all shot in a few hours and with the 18-105 G that makes it a wonderful run-and-gun lens with it’s zoom range. The OSS also works like a charm and AF too. 60fps helped of course :) https://vimeo.com/126130081

Sony A7II + Minolta APO 100-300mm
by Drasko Stojadinovic

Here is my first impression with the [shoplink 36290 ebay]Minolta APO 100-300mm F4,5-5,6 Telephoto Lens[/shoplink]:
First or all i got this 15 year old lens from a local photostore very cheap for only 70€. You can probably get it even [shoplink 36290 ebay]cheaper on ebay[/shoplink].
This lens is very lightweight and small for 100-300 mm zoom. I was really impressed it still fits in my old, small Sony Bag with the A7II.

I didn`t expect anything from this tele lens for that small price but I’ m really surprised how well it performs. Its not uber sharp like a modern lens but it delivers good enough quality and no sharpening is needed in lightroom. You have to boost the colors, saturation quite a lot. Make shure you get the right Adapter for this lens with aperture dial!
This lens works great in manual with my A7II and the 5axis IBIS.
