Finally got to test out the A7SII in Norway. I struggled going from stills to video the entire trip. Using the A7RII for stills and SII for footage. Just a short film documenting the workshop with Lofotentours.com. They did an amazing job, five stars!

Elmar: “I am a photographer and im using Sony cameras A7rII /7MII i love underwater photography as well as landscape, events, wedding people, sports, and more.
I thought maybe my work is interesting to see the result of the combo underwater, for me it is the best combination for underwater macro photography.
I m using the new underwater housing from Nauticam for the A7rII+Macro G OSS FE90mmF2,8, 2x Inon strobes,2x lights from Sola light & motion ports and on some of the pictures the SMC(super macro converter) from Nauticam.
I went on a trip to Bali in November on the link below you can enjoy some of the pictures. http://www.blueworldpixel.com/#!macro-art/cml2“
The seller of the Commlite Nikon F autofocus adapter for Sony E-mount contacted me and told me this: The adapter will cost $359 with international shipment cost included in the price.
Preorders will start on early January with first shipment by mid of January
Speaking to the guys in XXX (Editor’s note: removed name and location) yesterday, one of them said a new manufacturer is releasing lenses for FE mount next year, and its “not who’d you think”, i checked and he didnt mean voigtlander, but would tell me no more other than “price point a bit below Zeiss level”.
Not sure what company this could be. Let’s hope “below Zeiss level” also means that these lenses will be high quality just like Zeiss lenses.

I know it’s not an alpha officially, but it’s a pro grade mirrorless & I know you kind of think the same ;-).” Editor’s note: You are right :)
The Sony US site now shows the full Sony A68 presentation page. The camera is now listed at Adorama and BHphoto. But preorders will be accepted from March 1 only with shipment in April.
In Europe the camera can be already preordered through many sellers like Amazon Germany and soon Amazon UK too.
Last week a Sony manager said: “E-mount won’t replace (and kill) it since there are things you can do with the longer flange distance in A mount that you can’t with E mount” (article here).
I tried to figure out what the possible A-mount flange advantages could be. What came to my mind is the following list:
SAR reader Rick Rupert suggested that Sony could use the “space” to AF with manual lenses just like the [shoplink 43564 ebay]Contax AX[/shoplink] did. But I think that’s highly unlikely. Complex to build and not sure it’s really a highly requested feature. By the way Sony already patented this in 2014 (article here).
Better heat management and higher video performance. With more space in the camera higher bitrate and maybe even 8K recording could be easier implemented on A-mount cameras. That yes could work out…a real very high end A-mount camera with no compromises.
Better ergonomic and button layout. Well, Sony could also do a sort of A9 E-mount camera with bigger body too.
Make it hybrid mount. Capable of using both A and E-mount lenses without adapter. One camera to rule them all. That would be nice :)
Please let us know if you have some more points! Thanks!

Reminder: Recently Bruno from Lesnumeriques told us about Sony’s A-mount strategy: “They focus on FF lenses for A-Mount and consider that their APS-C line up is enough for now.” (article here). This sorts of confirms A-mount could continue as a “premium” system.
