Here is a curious story first reported on Nikoneye:

A newly published Tamron patent confirms the Nikkor Z 180-600mm f/5,6-6,3 VR lens is actually a Tamron design. The following image shows the optical design from the patent compared with the official design of the Nikon:

We all know Sony has 14.80% share in Tamron and we know Tamron has no problem making such lenses for different mounts. The question therefore is…will Tamron also make an E-mount version of this lens? Keep in mind there is already a Tamron 150-500mm f/5-6.7 FE lens…would you need a 180-600mm FE?
