Well, if you look at that chart posted by Personal View you will notice a big change is going on in the system camera market. DSLR sales are dropping while mirrorles system camera are holding their ground. The data is based on the sales from Japanese camera manufacturers (Source: CIPA). It may explain why Sony is betting high on their mirrorless system and is a bit less “engaged” on the A-mount front. Still, there is a lot to do to make that mirrorless sales line make growth further…

As you know, the Phigmenttech LM-NEX adapter is the only M-mount -> E-mount adapter that provides EXIF data and focus coupling What may not be apparent is that this adapter is also the only adapter (for any lens mount -> E mount) that can provide lens profiles to the camera. I have recently updated my site and firmware that allows for easier configuration of the adapter. It is now possible to upload a sample “white wall” shot to my site and have a custom profile generated that will apply real-time vignetting (and experimentally cast) correction (It looks like there is a limit of approximately 1 stop correction). My site provides an example (sorry, research and development has taken away from my time to actually take pictures) of vignetting and cast correction.
