Today Nikon issued a new firmware update for their Z cameras. It adds Animal Eye AF feature like you have on the Sony’s. This was one of the few remaining advantages in Sony’s autofocus system. Seems like Nikon Canon and Fuji are quickly catching up.
I hope Sony pulls out a new rabbit from their R&D hut :)
A couple of company and store managers told me that more or less ALL camera and lens manufacturers are affected by the coronavirus outbreak. While some cameras and lenses might be assembled in Japan or Vietnam there are always parts coming from China. And this will be the bottleneck int he production.
What exactly the effects will be are now impossible to tell. We have to hope for the people’s sake that this outbreak will be contained soon. And only after that companies will know how many months of production delay they will have to expect.
