Oh yeah…Sony A1II now in stock with a $9444 price tag on Amazon

Sony is struggling to ramp up production to meet demand for the new Sony A1II. If you absolutely need it now, you’ll have to pay a whopping $9,444 on Amazon (click here if you don’t believe me).

Note: A source told me that Sony was able to increase production and the shortage should be resolved soon. So please don’t pay the $3,000 surcharge just yet!

Reminder: Sony has launched new savings you can find on this special BHphoto page (Click here)

Pricing info: Sony 400-800mm G will cost 2999€ and 16mm f/1.8 G 999€

I got the pricing info for the two new lenses coming on February 26:

One more additional info is that the 400-800 G will have a 105mm filter size.

I am working to get you the full lens specs and also a leak image of the 16mm G …stay tuned!

Great news from Tamron: By 2026 they will launch 10 new lenses per year!

Tamron has announced its annual financial results (January to December 2024). In its new mid-term plan, the company revealed plans to increase the pace of new lens releases from the current 6-7 per year to 10 per year by 2026. In addition, the company will proceed with establishing a sales structure for four mounts (E mount / Z mount / RF mount / X mount).

Sony holds a stake of 14.99% Tamron (Source here). If Tamron is doing well, Sony is also doing well. Tamron had to revise the forecast upwards(!) because they expect more sales than planned:

Now I do hope some the exciting patents will make it into reality:

  • 24-110mm f/4.0
  • 25-50mm f/2.0
  • 28-100mm f/2.8
  • 28-120mm f/4.0
  • 28mm f/1.4
  • 30mm f/1.4
  • 35mm f/1.4
  • 40mm f/1.4
  • 50mm f/1.4
  • 75mm f/1.4
  • 60mm f/2.0 macro
  • 70-130mm f/2.0
  • 90mm f/2.8 macro
  • 135mm f/1.8
  • 150mm f/2.8 macro
  • 180mm f/3.5 macro
  • 200-600mm f/5.6
  • 200-800mm f/6.3
  • 350mm f/4.5
  • 200-400mm f/4.0
  • 200-800mm f/5.6
  • 13mm f/1.8 (APS-C)
  • 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 (APS-C)
  • 18-500mm f/3.5-6.5 (APS-C)

The 70-130mm f/2.0 sounds very interesting to me! What do you like to get?
