These are the first four RX100M3 full size image samples (Source: Sony.net). In the meantime I have been told by one source that Sony in very last minute withdraw the A7s pricing release for Europe. On the other side of the world you can preorder both the A7s and RX100M3 in USA:

First real Sony A7s High Iso test!

Click on image to enlarge (Courtesy of DCfever).

The Chinese site DCfever posted the first real Sony A7s High ISO test. Please remember that firmware of the camera is 0.01 only! And these are Jpegs too (as usual RAW will show a better performance). At first glance all I can say is that up to ISO 25,600 images do look pretty good. Real huge deterioration happens only from 102.400 ISO towards.

Again, I repeat: The A7s images with final firmware will look even better! And if you buy the new [shoplink 26501 ebay]Mitakon 50mm f/0.95 on eBay (Click here)[/shoplink] you will be able to shoot ghost at night too :)

[ArtBenny Video] Sony A7s iso test from benny wong on Vimeo.

Today Sony announced the A7s in Hong Kong and Japan. And our reader Benny shared videos and image to SonyAlphaRumors. The video on top shows you the High Iso performance in complete darkness. He also sent me the first full size image samples taken with the A7s. These go up to 40.000 ISO and you can download them here at Wetransfer (10MB zip file). Please do not remove the copyright note if you share them (and kindly link back to SonyAlphaRumors as source).

This is the image taken at ISO 40.000 in complete darkness and with the [shoplink 26511 ebay]Canon 50mm f/0.95 lens[/shoplink]. I know it’s noisy but as you see on the video on top the room is really COMPLETELY DARK!

And this is ISO 800 with the small lights on:

If crazy High ISO is what you need than the A7s is for you. And remember that since today you can also buy a “cheap” native [shoplink 26501 ebay]Mitakon 50mm f/0.95 on eBay (Click here)[/shoplink]. Also note that the A7s hd a very early 0.01 firmware version. Image Quality will improve with the final firmware which will be ready right before the first July shipment.

New DxOmark lens test: 28-70mm FE and Samyang 24mm A-mount lens.

DxOmark tested two great lenses:

1) The Sony FE 28-70mm lens (Click here to read the test). The surprise is that it is almost as good as the 24-70mm FE Zeiss:

Although enthusiasts will head straight for the Zeiss, anyone on a budget won’t feel short-changed from the Sony 28-70mm f3.5-4.5. It has some shortcomings, particularly with regard to uniformity at the wider apertures where it’s easily outclassed by the Zeiss but the Sony puts up a good fight overall and doesn’t cost the earth.

2) Samyang 24mm f/1.4 A-mount lens (Click here to read the test):

Wide-open performance isn’t particularly impressive but sharpness improves noticeably at f2.0, at least in the center of the field.  Transmission when measured on the A99 is excellent and both distortion and chromatic aberration are very well controlled. Vignetting is heavy at the maximum aperture but it’s not unexpected and hardly a serious problem.
