A second source confirmed the Sony 300mm f/2.8 GM will be announced on November 8th.

I still got NO confirmation the A9III will be announced on that same event. All I am sure about is that if it’s not going to be announced next week that with 100% certainty it will be announced on the next Sony event that is scheduled for January. But it simply might be that Sony is incredibly tight lipped on this camera as it I know they spent a lot of advertisement money on this camera.

• Maybe new A9III (if not, than it will be announced in January)

Yongnuo will soon announce two new lenses that are rather unique. They have a built-in 2.4Ghz wireless chip, so remote control, autofocus, AB focus, etc. are possible.

On November 2 Canon will announce three new lenses. And one of them is a lens that has never been done before:

• Canon RF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM
• Canon RF 24-105mm f/2.8L IS USM Z
• Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS

The only thing that comes close to that 24-105mm f/2.8 is the very old Tamron 28-105mm f/2.8

On November 8 Sony will have a major event. Very likely we are getting a new 30mm GM lens. But there is also a fair chance they might announce the A9III. from my trusted sources I know this camera was scheduled to be launched in the November 2023-January 2024 timeframe. One of my sources already saw the camera and told me it’s super fast. He also said that when he asked about the pricing Sony said that it will be priced in the mid $4,000.

The source didn’t want to share the specs yet as he is one of the few knowing them. So I am waiting til more people gets some A9III info before to post the final specs. To recap:

• 300mm f/2.8 GM will be announced on November 8
• Fair chance the A9III might be announced too (Specs: New stacked sensor with increased resolution, fastest AF and fastest FPS on any FF camera to date)

The Chinese manufacturer Brightin star will announce their first E-mount autofocus lens sometimes in November. They currently sell manual focusing prime lenses only on their official Amazon store.

Our readers were wondering what’s the meaning of that 3D dotted map in Sony’s teaser. Knowing that the Sony A9III could(!) be announced on November 8th, and that it is rumored ot have the world’s best AF than this might be related to some kind of new in depth tracking features. Which would surely makes sense for a camera that has to track subjects in sports and midlife photography.

One of our readers did go so far to think that the 3D dots hear resemble that of a LIDAR mapping system!

Sony Japan officially posted a teaser page for a “Special Event” that will take place in Yokohama on November 8/9. This confirms the rumor I posted weeks ago that Sony will have a product announcement event on November 8. Here is what we can expect to get:

• Sony 300mm f/2.8 GM (99% chance this is coming)
• Sony A9III with new stacked sensor and world’s fastest AF and fps (70% chance this ic coming)
• Major Sony A1 firmware update (70% chance this is coming)
