Next announcement on September 4 (QX lenscameras and Honami Z1 smartphone)

Next week (September 4) Sony will announce another bunch of new products. The Honami Smartphone with High Quality G lens and sensor. And the famous QX lenscamera series. A source had the chance to test the QX lenses on an iPad and writes:

both camera’s (QX10 and QX100) will connect to the smartphones via NFC and/or Wi-Fi for iOS devices. It works on all smartphones and every setting can be adjusted via the app with the Playmemories Mobile 3.0 app which I have tested as a beta.

I hope sources can soon tell me the price of these QX lenscameras. Thanks!

And one very big announcement could be made in late September for the NEX-FF (and maybe some A-mount news is coming too). More about that soon on SAR!

(UPDATED) NEX-5T and ILC 3000 specs leaked.

EosHD accidentally leaked the NEX-5T and ILC pdf files containing the full specs:

A3000 specs (.pdf)
NEX-5T specs (.pdf)
Zeiss 16-70mm specs (.pdf)
Sony 18-105 G PZ specs (.pdf)

As I told you before the ILC has no in body IS (thee was an error on the manual). And the NEX-5T is essentially a NEX-5R with some minor upgrades. And here are the price info:

$398 Sony Alpha A3000
$548 Sony NEX-5T
$698 Sony NEX-5T with 16-50mm lens
$998 for the Zeiss 16-70mm f/4.0 lens
$598 for the Sony E PZ 18-105G lens

Sony announcement at 5am London time.

Mark that hour. Tonight at exactly 5am London time Sony will officially launch the new NEX cameras and lenses. Be sure to be online on SAR to follow live all the news and reviews!

Announcement Timezones:
9pm San Francisco
Midnight in New York
5am London time
6am Berlin time
1pm Tokyo time

Reminder: NEX-FF and A-mount stuff is not coming yet. But you will not have to wait a long time ;)

Rumor correction: ILC-3000 has no In Body stabilization.

There is a correction to report:

The ILC-3000 E-mount cameras has no built-in Image Stabilization. It looks like there was an error on the camera specification list (probably while Sony copied the A-mount camera spec table or so).

Still valid: The ILC-3000 has a brand new 20.1 Megapixel sensor. it will be interesting to see how good the new sensor generation is! The camera costs 300 pounds and is aimed to compete against the Canon Rebel series.

Stay tuned on SAR. The chance is good that Sony will announce the new NEX cameras and lenses at 6-7am London time!

(SR5) Sony Germany creates the ILC-category. Announcement tomorrow at 5-6 am London time!

I know some here didn’t believe Sony could call the new DSLR shaped E-mount camera…”ILC-3000“. But as a proof just click over at Sony Germany. They just added the ILC category in their menu. Actually it’s “ILCE”, the “E” stays for E-mount.

Anyway, we now have seen images and specs of all cameras. At that point I kindly invite you to follow the announcement live on SonyAlphaRumors tomorrow (August 27) at 5-6am London time. As usual I will be here to update you with links to all reviews, news, image samples and preorders.

QX, NEX-FF and A-mount rumors to come after the announcement:
The QX “lens-cameras”will be announced on September 4th (along the Honami Z1). And the most exciting time is still ahead of us. Sony is trying to keep it very secret, but I know the NEX-FF is coming. And let’s hope some A-mount news is on the horizon too. That’s going to be intriguing :)

(SR5) One more A3000 picture. Has in body IS.

DukeOfDutch (Click here) posted one more picture of the new A3000 (or ILC-3000) E-mount camera. And another source just told me that the camera has (UPDATE: has not a body stabilization) and metal mount. So now we know it costs 300 pounds (body only), has a new 20.1 Megapixel sensor, 100-16,000 ISO, 230K LCD and 1.44 Million dot EVF.

Sounds like a great little camera! The announcement could be made on Tuesday morning at around 5-6 am London time. Be sure to be online on SAR at that time to follow the announcement live!

The Korean site Dicahub posted a size comparison between the A3000 and other cameras:

Sony Austria lists the new NEX-5T, Zeiss 16-70mm and 18-105 G lens.

All the new Sony NEX stuff got leaked the recent days and now it’s even Sony itself leaking some info through their own websites. Sony Austria (Click here) lists the new 16-70mm f/4.0 OSS Zeiss lens, the new 18-105 G lens (page here) and the NEX-5T (page here). The new info we got here is that the Zeiss lens and the 5T will already ship in September. The G PZ zoom will ship in December only. What you don’t see on the Sony site is the price of the lenses. But the Zeiss should be around 1.000 Euro.

Thanks Winni for finding the links!
