As you know I am getting a couple of these “crazy” rumors about a NEX PRO camera with A-mount (yeah at first glance this is a nonsense). I can feed the mystery story with a new piece of information I received from a new mysterious source. That’s what I got last night: “A pro “nex style” with A mount is in the works. It has a DSC-V3 style to it.” I posted the picture of the camera on top and you can find that camera on [shoplink 7546 ebay]eBay only (Click here)[/shoplink]. One of the key info here is that the source said it’s a “NEX style” camera! So probably we are talking about an A-mount camera without viewfinder! That starts to makes a sense now! Could that be the third Alpha camera that will be announced along the A77 and A65?

Reminder: That is what another source told me two days ago: “The “nex pro” will indeed use the A-mount. Sony is marketing towards professionals who want it as a main camera and even as a 2nd camera. It may also have the standard Sony SLR/TLR shoe mount.”

Sometimes I get rumors from new sources that are very difficult to “believe”. I hope my trusted sources can confirm or deny the following rumor:

It’s not the first time I get rumors about an A-mount NEX camera. To me that doesn’t make sense at all. And for you? I hope the new soruce that sent me this is not offended by the low rumor rating but I wasn’t able to confirm it with my trusted sources. Anyway, I hope you are right because I like the other rumors you sent me too!!! :) Thanks!

A couple of days ago I asked my sources if the future Nikon FF cameras will still use Sony sensors. They gave me all the same answer…YES! The upcoming new D4 will indeed use a new Sony sensor which will be “tweaked” by Nikon engineers. The same sensor will be used by the future Sony FF translucent camera that will be announced in 2012! I am not sure yet about the D4 sensor specs, I know for certain that Sony developed two sensors (probably a 24MPX and a 36MPX FF sensor). The current Nikon D3X ([shoplink 7512]Click here ot see that camera[/shoplink]) has a Sony 24 megapixel sensor which is "almost" the same as the one used for the Sony A900 ([shoplink 3032 ebay]Click here ot see that camera[/shoplink]). I hope to learn more about the new FF Sony sensors soon!

This is not a new rumor but just a confirmation! Some of you (and me too) were worried that the NEX-7 announcement might would have been delayed for a very long time. Todaye my sources confirmed the NEX-7 will be announced along the A77 in late August.  SO we don’t have to wait that much! The only reliable info I have about the camera is that it will use the same amazing 24 Megapixel sensor of the A77. There were also rumors about the NEX-7 having a [shoplink 6005 ebay]Minolta Dimage A2 look (Click here to see that camera on eBay)[/shoplink]. But I have no confirmation about that.

One more thing: I am still in touch with some A77 and full frame camera testers. Should get some more exciting news soon!

It’s very difficult for me to get reliable info about the upcoming lenses. This because the recent Earthquake in Japan changed the plan of all camera manufactors (Sony and Zeiss). As I already told you the 500mm f/4.0 G lens has been delayed and I have to check what of the orgiginal 4-5 planed Fullframe lenses will be announced within 2011. But there is one small reliable info I can share with you today. Sony should release a premium ultrawide G fullframe zoom within end 2011. I have been told it is “along the lines of the [shoplink 7489 ebay]11-18[/shoplink] but much higher quality, and not DT” Check the 11-18 Sont DT lens at [shopcountry 7489].

I ask my sources if they know something about that Zeiss lens roadmap I got from a new source:

Day after day I am receiving new tidbits of rumors about the Fullframe strategy. And I will soon have more news for those waiting for more NEX-7 and A77 info.

A new source told me one of the prototypes has a 36 megapixel sensor. At first Sony had problems with overheating in 40+C conditions but they managed it to solve them. A trusted source told me that all fullframe camera will have the same tilt-swivel solution you have seen on the A77 picture. Whenever I look at that pic I have to say that it looks like it could break very easily! Hope I am wrong :)

And as I already told you there will be more than one fullframe cameras announced in 2012. They will all be Translucent, have built-in GPS and be optimized for video. I have been told that the video quality will be lot better than the [shoplink 6340]Canon 5D markII (Click here to see that cam on Amazon)[/shoplink].

One more thing: I want to thank all the sources for sending me rumors. Please understand that I usually try to doublecheck rumors before to post them And if I can’t than I will publish them with low rumor ranking (SR2 or SR3). But I will keep your (fake) names in mind and if rumors turn out to be true you will automatically become a trusted source :) P.S.: Got some strange rumors about the NEX pro having a curious “mount solution”. As you know Nikon fullframe cameras do use sensors made by Sony. (UPDATE: Nikon says their FF sensors do have a custom design but the D3X sensor and [shoplink 3032]A900[/shoplink] sensor are very similar in specs). And we always had the feeling that Sony isn’t seriously competing against the famous partner. But this could change soon! According to our sources Sony is testing different fullframe prototypes. And we know for sure that at least two FF cameras will be announced in 2012. One of the tested prototypes is a high resolution camera with built-in grip aimed to compete against the [shoplink 7471 ebay]Nikon D3X[/shoplink] and [shoplink 7472 ebay]Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III[/shoplink]. Sounds like Sony is really planing to enter the (High) PRO market! One of our sources told us the prototype is based on the new Translucent technology and has a very high resolution sensor (Close to 40 megapixel!). Please keep in mind that we are talking about prototypes so specs are not 100% definitive yet. But I will keep you updated with all the news I can get.

P.S.: I also have a question for my sources, will Nikon still have a “priority” on the new generation of Sony sensors or will Sony don’t give any advantage to Nikon anymore? Thanks!
