NOTE: On the video above I said those are Viltrox lenses but they are not, they are from Yongnuo!
Yongnuo will soon announce five new APS-C lenses. The leaks show the X-mount versions. Unclear yet if there will be also Sony E, Nikon Z and Canon R mount versions. Here are the specs:
11mm f/1.8
23mm f/1.4
33mm f/1.4
50m f/1.4
56mm f/1.4
Some leaked images of the 001 numbered first prototype lens appeared on Weibo.
Ahead of today’s announcement we got this new leaked images of the Z8. I am really interested to see how the Z8 (announcement within hours) will be priced to compete with the A7rV and A1!
Reservation start date: May 12, 2023 10:00 am Scheduled release date: May 26, 2023
I got a minor update on the A6700 from a new source:
A6700-4k120 is true. But will come in FW update along with zve1
While this is not coming from one of my trusted sources it sounds possible the A6700 will have the same fate of the ZV-E1. Probably they use the same new engine and software updates and it makes sense that the 4k120p feature will have the same kind of “delay” as on the just announced ZV-E1.
Viltrox will soon announce this new 16mm f/1.8 E-mount autofocus lens. And it features an LCD screen! We already saw this kind of approach years ago when Zeiss announced the Batis FE lens series. Should be a good solution for filmmakers!
Back on January Sony announced the 300mm f/2.8 GM development with a target launch date in early 2024. I now got a wild rumors about an anticipated launch of this lens. To me this sounds very unlikely but hey…I would be happy to be proven wrong!
An anonymous source is sharing this across the web:
Sony 300 2.8 GM will be announced end of May. Lightest 300/2.8 with fastest AF and closest minimum focus distance on the market.
I would be very surprised if this turns out to be true, therefore take it with a big grain of salt!
The body will be a new design. It will still have the evf on the left, but it will have a scroll wheel on the front under the shutter button. The grip is redesigned and more ergonomic. The body will be about 3mm deeper and 4mm taller.
Announcement date: beginning of July.
I am yet not 100% sure if those specs are correct, hope trusted sources will give me their feedback after reading this post. But to me those specs sound very reasonable and I explain you in my latest video why these might be correct:
