Sigma silently kills the Sigma 24mm f/1.4 A-mount lens
Bad news for A-mount folks: Sigma silently killed the A-mount version of their 24mm ART lens (Source BHphoto). And the official Sigma site doesn’t display the A-mount version anymore.

As you know Phase One recently announced the XF 100MP Camera System. It uses a 101 Megapixel Sony medium format sensor. And if you want to see some new full size image samples click on those links provided by DCfever:

It loads slowly and of course you need a fast computer to work on those files. But you better get used to that because I am pretty sure 100+ megapixel sensors will be common on Sony Alpha cameras in a year or two too. After all isn’t that the reason why Sony launched the new Gm lens line? :)
Hi!
I reported yesterday that there is one advertisers not respecting the google adsense rules. This leads to redirects on mobile browsers where you see unallowed and offensive ads. Google asked me to help them out to catch the advertisers. The issue happens only in some countries like USA and UK. And it doesn’t happen in the country where I am located right now. That’s why I need some experienced techfreaks SAR readers that currently see those redirects on their mobile devices. If you could help me out by dong this:
To all readers:
This morning I removed all ads from mobile devices to get rid of the redirects. I will now have to activate those ADS again so that we can catch that annoying advertiser. Once we got them I will let you know who it was! But in the meantime sorry if you have those annoying ads again.
Animalsbarry sent me this:
“Talked to Sigma tech rep: Sigma will not be making a NIKON version of the mc-11 ever. The reason for this is that there are differrences in how the Nikon lenses work that would be problematic, so Sigma decided to only make Sigma and Canon versions because they are easier.”
Sigma’s new MC-11 adapter cost $249 and will ship in April according to BHphoto (preorder here).

Yuri: “I’m Yuri from Switzerland 17 year old. Last summer I discovered my fascination for astrophotography. For four months, I captured the beauty of night sky in Switzerland with the Sony a7s. The result of my journey is a six minute long time-lapse movie.
I hope you like it and I’ll be more than happy if you post it on your inspirational website!

Christopher: “http://yannickkhong.com/blog/2016/2/23/the-problem-with-modern-optics. I’ve followed and enjoyed your blog for the past year and as I’ve been working with my A7RII and a few sony lenses I’ve been struck by it’s lack of life and skinniness that just don’t feel as good as my previous cameras (other things I absolutely love about this camera though, I can handhold and film with a 200mm!). The above is a good take on how to look at what is a good lens vs just what the numbers say and something I find is a bit lacking in most discussion. Thought you’d enjoy it.”
