Firmware update coming to add GM lens support

Sony Japan reports a new firmware update will be released within this month to add GM lens support.

Back in January SAR was the first site reporting about the world’s first Leica M to Sony E-mount adapter. The adapter does autofocus with ALL [shoplink 43785 ebay]M-mount lenses (Leica, Voigtlander, Zeiss)[/shoplink]. Since than we are in contact with the developers and Advancedgear/MX Camera also posted the first test videos (watch them here). Today they sent us that new video (see above) and the full specs:

(SR5) Zeiss to soon announce a new Batis 18mm f/2.8 lens!

I can now confirm via multiple sources that Zeiss will launch a new Batis 18mm f/2.8 lens! The lens will be announcement in March-April.

And more importantly: This is not the only new Batis lens we will get in 2016! Stay tuned on SAR!
