There is an interesting story that might tell us a lot about the future of the camera market. I contacted many well known store managers and asked them to give me an idea of the Fuji X100VI preorder numbers. The camera is selling about 50x times more than the Sony A7cII/A7cR combined and 35x times more than the Nikon ZF.
I thought about the possible reason of this incredible success in my latest video. In short:
- Nowadays all cameras are good from a tech point of view. Manufacturers should therefore focus on 1) camera style 2) usability 3) film styles
- The younger generation wants to step up from smartphone photography and wants to buy gear they fiend beautiful and easy to use
A new vintage looking RX lineup could come close to the Fuji X100VI sales success….What do you think?
New Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 Pro RE-announced again :)
One month ago the first preorders of the new Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 Pro became available at BHphoto, Amazon, Viltroxstore (use code “Rumor” to get a 8% discount) and Pergearstore. Today Viltrox made big fuzz and re-announced the lens. So you will find many reviews out there claiming about the new release. Don’t worry, it’s just a marketing mess :)

Sony lists the “DCI 4K / 24.00p Upgrade License” for the Sony A7sIII
A reader (Thanks!) noticed that the DCI 4K license is now listed at the Creatorscloud page. I never saw it there before (maybe I missed it). But it’s clear this is going to be available for the A7sIII in March!
