Sony teases the launch of the new Xperia 1 V on May 11
Sony launched an official teaser for a May 11 event. It’s rumored they will announce a new new Xperia 1 V. Sony writes:
Next-gen Sensor. Next-gen Imaging. Next ONE is coming.
Based on rumors, the phone will launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and it could be the thinnest phone to boast this SoC. It also will feature triple camera setup with rumored 12MP main, 12MP periscope and 48MP ultra wide sensors.
But the biggest news here might be the use of a new dual layer sensor for the cameras. A tech that might one day find it’s way on future Alpha E-mount cameras?

Chris Niccolls says the A7rV is the best photographers cameras you can buy!
From minute 44 you can hear why Chris loves the A7rV and believes it’s the best camera to buy!
As much as Sony can frustrate when it comes to lack of firmware update support, I know why I bought the A7rV myself: It is the best camera for my kind of photography and I am super happy with it!

First test of the Insta 360 camera that uses TWO Sony 1 inch sensors
I always liked the Sony RX100s series but it doesn’t look like Sony plans to launch any update in that regard. But yesterday I tried the funny Insta 360 RX that uses two of the Sony 1 inch sensors used by the RX100II…and it costs $500 less :)
Of course I am comparing apple with oranges here…but still…impressive work from Insta!
As you know I live in the middle of the alps and love to hike and bike . While I take all my mountain shots with the Sony A7rV and Tamron 28-200mm FE lens and I do plan to use the Insta 360 RS to record my tours. Yesterday I did my very first test and if you are interested in how the Insta works check out my video:
