Two more Sony cameras coming within 3-4 months!

Share

On 23 May, Sony officially registered a new code for a camera that has not yet been released (see image above). In total, we now have three official camera codes in China. One of these is for the newly announced Sony FX2 (we still need to find out which one). This means that at least two cameras will be announced in the next 3-4 months. Here are the details of these registrations:

  • Code “WW934774” manufactured by Sony Shanghai and registered on on April 21: Cinema line and video products such as FX9 and FX6
  • Code “WW697160” manufactured by Sony Japan and registered on May 9: Usually those are for high-end products such as the α1II, α9 III, and A7rV
  • Code “WW084220” manufactured by Sony Wuxi and registered on May 23: Low to mid-range products such as ZV-1F, ZV-E10M2, α7 IV, and α7C

All we learn from these registrations is that all cameras do support dual band (which means there is no entry level camera) and that we will get two more camera announcements between June and September. My guess is that the Sony FX2 is manufactured in Shanghai, China (WW934774). This leaves us with a high-end camera manufactured in Japan and a mid-to-low-end product manufactured in Wuxi. Here is a list of candidates:

  • Code “WW697160” registered by Sony Japan could be for a new Sony A7sIV, RX1rIII, Sony A7rVI
  • Code “WW084220” registered by Sony Wuxi: Low to mid-range products such as ZV-E1II, A7V

My guess is that one of the camera codes is for the A7V while I am really unsure about the new high end camera manufactured in Japan. I was expecting to get a new A7rVI in 2026 only. So egoistically speaking I am hoping for a miraculous RX1rIII :)

What are your thoughts on this…what cameras do you hope to get?
