Editors note: wrong patent post
Quick note for our readers. For one hour an article went online with the wrong patent link and patent description. Sorry for that. I will soon post the real patent articles. (the mistake happened because I have been in very hurry at work).
You have the full right to blame me for that mistake ![]()

2 years ago |The new A77 sensor will be capable of about 14-15 fps (360Mpixels/sec). I don’t know if Sony will actually use the full sensor capability but it is capable of that. For example, the sensor in the A700 was capable of about 10fps but the A700 couldn’t actually shoot that fast. With the A77 which does not have a moving mirror it might be more likely that Sony will support the 14-15fps that the camera is capable of even if only to differentiate the A77 from the A55 which can already handle 10fps.

2 years ago |This would imply the A77 could process video at 24 fps at 15MP per frame which would be good enough to extract very usable stills. Is this feasible?

2 years ago |Forgot to add that the 15fps is at a resolution of 24mp per image.

2 years ago |24Mpix is 35Mb RAW file and 15fps would be 525MB/s. If it is 360MB/s, then it is 10fps. Any way it is useful if you could shoot at least 4-5s and camera buffer should be about 1.5GB. I think also new cards is needed…
