Because of high demand and production issues Sony Japan had stopped to take preorders on the new 16-35mm G lens. Today they announced they will resume the sales and the lens will start shipping out on May 27th. The 24-70mm GM II will start to ship out on June 10th.
Sony Japan also announced the launch of the new A7IV with 28-70mm kit lens launch.

It’s quite a big commitment from Sony to launch fast ultra wide and wide primes. It’s a pity they will not announce a new APS-C camera too but this has to do with the current worldwide semiconductor shortage. From what I heard the ZV kind of E-mount camera launch has been delayed to late 2022.
