2 months ago |I have a Sony 500mm f8 and fell it needed a camera that focused a little better, to get the full potential from it. Hopefully was are about to get such a camera. I’m hanging on to my 500mm f8.

3 years ago |What a shame. I have one and love it. I have had mine for almost 20 years. I used it on my 9xi before I got my A100. Its size and performance can not be beaten.

3 years ago |The 500mm f/4 and the 500mm f/8 do not compete in the same price range! I don’t think I can afford buying a 500mm f4 in the near future.
I don’t think both products are aimed at the same purpose.

3 years ago |I doubt. AFAIK it was the only one, and there’s hardly anything you can do better in this lens.
It was the only available reflex option with AF and stabilization. something noone else have ever made. It supported filters, had unique bokeh, was a well build, modern-design lens, and was decently priced. Not even saying that AFAIK it was the only reflex lens produced by a big camera manufacturer up to date. (all the others abandoned this idea years ago)
