Sony A99 vs D600 by Digitalrev.
Kai from Digitalrev posted that A99 vs Nikon D600 comparison video. In his opinion the Nikon has the edge. But as he correctly stated, the best camera is the one that fulfills your real need. And the A99 has quite some areas that are unmatched by the Nikon.
Kai doesn’t really like the EVF but the German website Digitalkamera (translation here) writes: “Der elektronische Sucher der A99 ist eine Wucht” which means “The electronic viewfinder of the A99 is stunning.”
And here are some new links to work done by SAR readers:
Tino shared his last work done with the A99 at Flightforum.ch.

A99: Some small EU price drops:
You can now find the first 50-100 Euro price drops in EU at Wex Deutschland and on eBay (via Slidoo).

6 months ago |Lots of deliberate “fails” there.
Noise test is not even focused properly to make the Nikon image look straightaway more appealing.
Dont know why they are insistent on using that antiquated Minolta designed screw driven 50mm F1.4. It’s not exactly going to show the AF qualities of the A99 too well is it?
He deliberately opted not to use the 24-70 Nikon because it was more sluggish than the 50mm he was using. Is that 50mm from Nikon body driven or motor driven?
He should use some proper CZ glass like almost all A99 users will be using with the camera anyway!

6 months ago |No one out there doing reviews that is more fluff and less substance. At least hes usually good for a laugh or two but this one was just lame.

6 months ago |I guess we should consider ourselves lucky? At least he used a full frame lens for this review… for the A99 hands on review he was using a cheap plastic APS-C only lens. If your going to give a totally biased review at least fake like your serious… right?

6 months ago |The Sony A99 and Nikon D600 are not the same price class:
December 2012
price in Europe, inkl. 20% tax:
A99 = 2.800,-€ = 3.640,-USD (3.333,- without tax)
D600 = 1540€ (after € 150,- rabatt) = 2000 USD (1.666,-w.tax)
even Nikon D800 with 36 mil. pixel
cost in EU much less – 2.400,- € !
I saled the A900 and now I have Nikon D800 … while I still prefer (today) the OVF against the EVF)
