Sony NEX-7 news roundup (and first unboxing video)
There are a couple of new NEX-7 related news. As you know that camera will be in Stock by mid-November and I will certainly buy one! Now let’s see the list of news:
The video you see on top of this post shows an the high speed mode of the NEX-7 (10 frames per second with 24M RAW). There is also a Sony NEX-7 Russian fashion shooting video on youtube. New image samples have been posted at Fotopolis. SonyAlphaNex did a Sony Alpha NEX-7 vs Leica M9 size and spec comparison. The NEX-7 is really the closest “thing” to the Leica M9 which costs 5.500 Euro (click here to see that cam on eBay). 2 years ago |Does anyone know the likely release date for the CZ 24/1.8 E? As much as I want to buy the NEX 7, I particularly want to buy it with the Zeiss 24mm.
Looks like the NEX 7 will be available mid November in the UK … they say a weeks a long time in politics, however 5 or 6 weeks waiting for a NEX….

He has both cameras in hand and can’t get 100% comparison. Can’t even get similar White Balance. He’s right… there is no purpose to this except to promote his web site. At the size he displays, those shots could have been taken with any 2MP camera. Most of the comments request full size comparisons or 100% crops… but he just ignores them and makes lame excuse for why they aren’t color balanced. Fail… But at least he succeeded in promoting his retail web store.
The criteria for testing and comparison is really lacking here. I’ll be glad when Sony finally stops letting monkeys play with their new toys and hands them over to working togs. What does a guy have to do to be a tester these days?

2 years ago |Heh, go to his actual blog instead that post. He just like to pop up pictures. He’s not posting any scientific reviews from the so-called reviewers which measures unimportant metrics.
Don’t be a hater – he’s just posting pictures up in his picture blog of his family mostly. (I think that’s his daughter? From what I gather from his other blog entries)
‘What does a guy have to do to be a tester these days?’ – If I know, I’d have an A77 on my hand by now. Or a NEX 7 even. :\ I share your desire.

2 years ago |Just went to sony’s flagship store here in New York (you guys should definitely drop by there when you visit NYC, it’s an amazing store, all sony products. love the playstation section–it’s a like a huge arcade house you can play all day you want free!) they thought i was a sony employee and suggest i go up to the testing room, but i said no i am not, well that’s too bad coz all the new products are in there employees are playing with. damn! can’t wait to get my hands on all those esp the a77. they said they’ll be showing it in the store on the day PDN PhotoPlus Expo 2011 starts here, Oct. 27-29, and i definitely would be there at the expo to try out all things mouth-watering camera’s from all manufacturers.

Half the problems are from bad images, bad exposures, funny colour balance etc. Let’s see some real pro shots.. gives a much better impression.

2 years ago |The German video was great even thought I don’t understand German. Water video seemed really . . random. I’m not really sure what it demonstrates about the camera. I did like seeing the high speed shooting on the fashion video. THAT was useful and nice seeing the 7 integrated into a pro set up.
