The Sony NEX-5 wins the EISA award as best mirrorless camera (+ new reviews)
Eisa (The European Imaging and Sound Association) has choosen the Sony NEX-5 as best mirrorless camera 2010-2011. I believe nobody here will disagree with that decision
In the meanwhile one of our prefered websites Kurtmunger.com tested the NEX cameras (and compared the NEX-5 with the A700). Also Amateur Photographer posted a NEX-5 review.

“User-friendly interface with tutorial functions”
oh, the irony

3 years ago |I love the IQ and the potential of the NEX system; I even like the way the UI looks…but I almost threw a NEX3 across the store after testing it out for 10 mins because I was so frustrated. Just give me a freaking ISO dial, how difficult is that?

3 years ago |It looks like EISA has no A55 in mind this time. So, what’s A55 next year? award for 2011-2012?

@anonymous What award? The first SLT camera? A new category?
Come come I wanna see more people saying NEX 5 sucks and Sony sucks

3 years ago |Nex is definitely a sweet camera but seriously lacks useful lenses to compliment it – so yes it is a bit early at this point to label it as the “best mirrorless” camera. Despite the superiority of its sensor, Nex is still behind in terms of actual use as a system

3 years ago |When Sony went to Eisa’s front door to pick up the trophy, they had to knock on the door once and then press the doorbell 14 times before Eisa let them in.

Nah, it was more Sony bribed them with a bunch of free “doors”, which took them a long time to open before they got to the front. And then there were also a bunch of locks…

3 years ago |Keep blaming the cameras for your lack of skills guys and gals, quality from the NEX is amazing but if you owned one you would already know that

3 years ago |no, that button is for my focus point selection, so i do not even have that option on my NEX anymore
How many posting here actually own a sony camera? or a camera at all?

I was playing with nex-5, and surprise – there is no touchscreen…
Navigating using buttons with this awkward menu is not pleasant.
