Hi Andrea!
I thought of a better idea for solving the problem of vulnerable pins on the Sony flash shoe foot. (Animated GIF attached to demonstrate the idea.)
Here, the pins automatically retract when they’re off the camera, coming out only when the flash is in the “lock” position. In a perfect world they would have some horizontal and vertical movement when shifting into position, as this would help ensure a better electrical connection, but ultimately this will be up to the mechanical engineers who implement it.

The advantage of this idea is that Sony does not need to change the MiS specification; they can simply make all new flash feet work this way.
If the reaction from your readers is positive I’ll suggest it to Sony, who I am told is very receptive to ideas and feedback right now.

I guess you remember Nikon seriously “talking down” mirrorless cameras during their D5 presentation (video here on SAF, watch from min 8). Well today Fuji announced the X-PRO2 and did bring the best pro mirrorless argument so far :)
Fuji really shows how marketing should be. Funny and positive. You are checkmated Nikon marketing ;)

And now some interesting bits about the new Fuji X-PRO2 (specs here): Fuji claims the 24 megapixel X-Trans sensor can out-resolve 36 megapixel bayer sensor. Interesting they did mention the resolution that is rumored to be used by the A6100 (reminder: still low ranked SR3 rumor).

My respect for Zeiss as a company just grew even more today after reading this letter on their Twitter page! They apologize for the lack of availability of their Batis lenses. And the good news is that they managed to increase the production of the Batis lenses and expected delivery is now 2-3 months. Thanks Zeiss for finally answering the customers request!
