You can follow the Sony CES 2015 press annuncement on January 5th live on SAR!

I will embed the Sony live press announcement on SonyAlphaRumors. The conference starts at 5pm PST time on January 5th. That’s…

8pm New York time
01.00 London time
02:00 Berlin time
10:00 Tokyo time

So far I do not expect any new E or A-mount photo camera announcement. There will be certainly new camcorders and maybe an E-mount camcorder too. But don’t worry, major E (and?) A-mount announcements will be made right before the CP+ show in early February. It’s 100% sure they will officially release the new FE lenses they pre-announced at Photokina. There are also rumors about a new A7000 and higher end FE camera. But I am yet not sure which one will come (or if both will come). And while I got reliable rumors about a new A-mount FF camera the source who gave me the info didn’t tell me when the camera would be released. Just to say there is some hope :)

New Sony “Pregius” sensor line with global shutter.

Toshiba Teli Pregius

Image Sensor World spotted that Toshiba slide showing a new generation of Sony sensors named “Pregius“. It has global shutter, high frame rate and a yet not quantified “high sensivity-low noise-high dynamic range”. The sensor size offered by Sony goes up to 1.1 inch. Here are all sensor specs:

Toshiba Teli Pregius-1

It’s not clear yet if that sensor tech will be implemented in future larger APS-C and FF sensors.

KIPON released new EF-NEX AF autofocus electronic adapter and Baveyes EF-NEX AF autofocus optic adapter, both of two adapters can use full frame canon EF lens on SONY E mount mirrorless cameras, and realize autofocus function, former one can be used for SONY apsc frame E mount body(C3,NEX5,NEX7,A6000…),also can be used on full frame E mount body(A7,A7R,A7S,A7Ⅱ..),but when use it on apsc frame E mount body, there will physically have 1.5x crop factor; the second one have built-in 4 optic element, through special designed optic system, getting rid of the crop factor, to get the same view like full frame lens on full frame cameras.

Our products are always well known because of our stable quality and unique design, compare to other similar products, our these two adapters have better stability and best compatibility.

We will start the sale in US,Europe,Asia market for these two adapters before Christmas this month, retailer price would be 309USD and 408USD.

Vincenzo:I’m an Italian photographer & artist based in Berlin. I recently moved from digital to analog photography, but I still like to capture digital images. So, I decided to find a “digital back” in order to shoot the glass I use with film cameras. This is an artistic choice since I looked for consistency throughout my works. I found the Sony A7 a perfect tool: good neutral color rendition (unlike Fuji X) which coupled with Canon FD glass makes easy to mimic the Kodak Portra look. Having such a “digital back” is GREAT and I plan to keep having this sort of parallel path: analog + digital with shared glass. It’s all about the lenses… it is the glass that makes the picture!
I show my images and share my experience on www.one125.com and here http://www.one125.com/blog/2014/11/14/doing-more-with-less there is my last post.
