Sony registered a new camera in Asia. It has the code “WW119533” and 2,4GHx Wifi. Th Wifi capabilities suggest this is NOT a High End model. Maybe a new RX camera? RX10V?

By the way rumors saying the IMX521 sensor data got leaked today are quite off as we reported about that sensor back in July :) I have no clue if this is the sensor that will be used by the A7sIII. Anyway key specs are:

We ot thos two new info:

Zenit plans to launch multiple “Helios Edition” E-mount lenses. Those lenses will have Helios-40 alike similar character.
Zenit also plans to launch a new JUpiter-3 E-mount lens

And as I reported earlier Zenit will also launch a new 35mm f/1.0 FE lens too!

RUMOR: Tokina 85mm f/1.8 FE lens will be announced soon (90% reliable – article here).
RUMOR: The six new Tamron FE lenses will all be unveiled in 2020. None of them is likely to be a fast prime (70% reliable – article here).
FACT: Tamron said they have SIX more FE Lenses on their roadmap (article here).

This is the leaked image of the new Tokina 85mm f/1.8 FE lens. The lens will start shipping out on February 7 and cost around $500+ (550 Euro).

It’s hard to make a decent size comparison as the image show the lens slightly tilted. But it looks like the lens will be bigger than the excellent Sony 85mm f/1.8 and about on par with the Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8:

No info yet about when the lens will be officially announced by Tokina but I guess it will be unveiled sometimes in January…

The past weeks there were rumors saying that Olympus might close down their camera business. And it was also said that Olympus would sell their Know How to Samyang or Sony.

As far as I hear from Sony managers there seems to be no interest at all from Sony to get involved in Olympus also because it looks like those rumors are way over hyped and Olympus has NO plans to sell their business.

I will take this chance to propose a crazy idea:

I would LOVE if Olympus would join the E-mount system launching a full frame OMD camera and some nice ZUIKO PRO lenses. I think both Olympus and Sony would gain a lot from this. We would finally get some differentiation in camera designs. Olympus builds very good looking, solid (weatherproof) and user friendly cameras. I think Olympus would sell many of those! And Sony would benefit from this too as it would attract a new kind of potential buyers that usually lean more towards Nikon or Canon…

Yeah call me crazy…but let me know in the comment system if you would think this would be a good idea :)

A reliable source shared these two info:

1) Sony will announce a high quality lens in early 2020
2) The source isn’t yet 100% sure but he thinks this is a new GM wide angle lens!
