UPDATE: We now posted the images of the lens on a new post here: sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-first-image-new-sigma-105mm-f-1-4-art-lens-sony-e-mount/

Our Sigma sources were spot on and next week Sigma will announce their first FE lens: And it’s going to be a STUNNER!
Sigma will launch a new 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art for Sony E-mount. This lens will be also available for Canon and Nikon which means the lens is likely not designed for Sony only. Or maybe Sigma will announce two differently designed version of this lens?

This lens will match the quality of the Nikon 105mm f/1.4  lens and be priced much lower (see the Nikon lens specs at Amazon US and Amazon DE).

Nokishita reports that Sigma will also announce a new 70mm f/2.8 macro lens but they did not specify if it will be available for Sony too.

Both lenses will be announced next week!

(SR4) Now 75% chance ot get the A7III on Monday. And some hints about two new FE primes…

Tonight we received an “indirect” evidence that Sony is indeed going to launch the new A7III. The chances to get the A7III on Monday afternoon at the Las Vegas presentation are now at 75%.

One more thing:
A source also heard about two fast primes in development. But he got no confirmation if Sony will actually talk about those on Monday. One of the primes would be the 135mm FE.

I am still not 100% sure about WHAT will be announced: But the chances are increasing that we will get a new A7III camera on February 26. This because we learned that many people got invited at big events in Las Vegas, London and Asia. I doubt they would do that for a new A6000mkII or A5300.

(SR2) Low ranked rumors about a sort of “Sony A6000mk2” camera coming on February 26

We know Sony will announce a new “entry-mid-level” Alpha camera on February 26. But so far I have no 100% reliable info about what this camera is about. But I think we can narrow down the choices to two cameras: The A7III and a new APS-C E-mount camera. It will be onw of the two.

I will now report four “unconfirmed” rumors (which means non-reliable yet):

Source 1:

“A7mk3 at CP+ 24MP sensor”

Source 2:

“There will be a new aps-c type camera from sony.
it won’t be a direct successor to the a6500 model.I will be in a lower series using the same sensor but less features…”

Source 3:

“there are reasons to claim new camera will be APS-C budget E-Mount camera. Something like a5500 or a6000 mk2. I give it 70% and 30% for a7 mk3.”

Source 4:

Sony will not announce a new a7 camera, just a new small entry level compact camera with special new Facebook, IG and Twitter dedicated buttons for instant social media uploads. I think the camera will sell very well with the teenage generation.

Let’s see whom of the three source is going to land on the hall of fame….or flame :)

(SR5) Leaked: This is the new Sony HVL-F60RM flash!

You remember how trusted sources that Sony would announce two things on Feb 26: The “entry-mid” level Alpha and a new Flash. Well the sources were spot on so far as this image of the new Sony HVL-F60RM flash just got leaked via Nokishita. It’s a radio-controlled version of the Sony HVL-F60M (we posted a rumor about it back in October).

Now the question remains: What’s the new entry-level camera? Place your bet here:

I think it is the...
