The new Voigtlander 35mm f/1.4 FE lens will be officially announced tomorrow in Japan. Estimated price is less than 100,000 yen (under $900). This lens will be visibly smaller than the current 40mm FE lens:
The size will be about the same as the old Nokton 35mm f/1.4 M-mount version with adapter. And here is how it looks on my Sony A7rIII:

As you all know Sigma will launch new lenses designed for the Full Frame E-mount cameras. So far wit’s rumored the first FE lens (or lenses) could be announced in late February 2018. The first lens should be a 35mm f/1.4 FE.
Two sources now told me that Sigma plans to release as first “ART” lenses only. This means we should expect fast primes (and maybe later one zoom) aimed to achieve maximum quality. A full list of current Sigma ART lenses can be found here on BH. But the new FE lenses will have a dedicated design for mirorrless!

I got some sigma news this morning. The line up should arrive in February next year. The lenses should be the same focal length as the actual line up. 14mm, 24mm, 35mm, 85mm and 135mm.
Sony will live stream the CES conference on January 8 at 5pm PT. In recent years Sony has used CES to focus on its audio and office lines. Last time Sony did unveil a new camera at CES was in 2014 (Sony A5000). I don’t expect them to announce the A7III or A7sIII on that day. But still, I will embed the live stream here on SAR and let’s see if they might surprise us.

Sony will be hosting a press conference at CES, 8th of January. An importer source has informed the store I work at that we should “make room” for a couple of new products. One of them is most likely the Panasonic GH5s, but they spoke in the plural, which would hint that Sony has something coming, too. We’re guessing it’s related to the a7 series, because of the recent price drops.
I doubt there will be some E-mount stuff. there might be some actions cameras tough?

Before we move on tonew 2018 rumors let’s recap what we have so far. This recap is based on sources who were right in the past, some new sources and stripped off the info from sources who were wrong in 2017:
Sony cameras:
1) Sony A7sIII: 95% chance it’s shipping in Q2 2018 (between April and June).
Shoul dbe announced at or before the NAB show and have 4k60fps and A9 autofocus system.
2) Sony A7III: 80% chance it’s shipping within first half 2018.
This mini brother of the Sony A9 is going to ship in early 2018. Exact announcement date is still unconfirmed. Hopefully February-March at or around CP+. The camera is rumored to have a new updated 24MP sensor, 6fps, joystick, touchscreen, 4K 30fps and same or similar A9 autofocus system.
3) Sony A77III (A-mount): 50% chance this is coming in early 2018
This could be the next A-mount camera. Still not info about the possible release. Spec wise we expect this to have the same A77m2 AF-phase detection module combined with a new Hybrid-AF (on sensor AF of the A6500). It uses the 24MP A6500 sensor and has 4K recording.
Still no info about the new RX or A6xxx cameras. Now let’s move on to lenses:
E-mount lenses:
First a non-rumor: The Sony 400mm FE will ship in September 2018 (see BHphoto)
1) Sony 135mm FE: 70% chance to get this within 2018. Probably f/1.8 aperture.
2) Sony 20mm f/2.8 FE: 50% chance to get this within 2018
3) Sony 200-600mm lens: 50% chance to get this within 2018.
4) Zeiss Batis and Loxia:
I have no specs yet about the upcoming lenses but there might be two lenses in 2018.
5) Sigma 35mm f/1.4 FE other FE lenses:
Announcement likely in February 2018 for the 35mm f/1.4 FE. More lenses should be released after that within 2018.
6) Voigtlander FE:
The 35mm f/1.4 lens will come in ealry 2018 (a fact and not a rumor). After that we might get a new 125mm f/2.0 macro FE lens.
7) Tokina FE:
They plan to release a new Super Wide and a fast wide FE autofocus lens in 2018. A Standard zoom is expected to be released in late 2018 or early 2019.
8) Samyang FE:
135mm FE will be announced and maybe a new zoom FE lens too.

65mm FE Lens
Back in February Voigtlander announced the develeopments of three new FE lenses: The 65mm macro (in Stock now at [shopcountry 62380]), the 40mm f/1.4 (in Stock now at [shopcountry 65034]) and the soon the be launched 35mm f/1.4.
And now a source spilled out the beans about what we can expect next:
Voigtlander are working on a 125mm f/2 Macro 1:1 lens as their 65mm has sold really well apparently.
I do hope this rumour turns out to be true. I really like that focal length and aperture. If it’s as good as the 65mm macro I will buy it.

Now Tokina US confirmed the lenses will be unveiled in 2018:
The reaosn why it’s taking longer than expected is because Tokina firsts wanted to have the time to evaluate the sales of the new 20mm f/2.0 FE lens (here at BHphoto).
