Richard Wong we will get two more E-mount lenses before the end of the year:

Sony China posted the full specs of the Sony A7rIII:

• Approximately 42.4 million effective pixels 35mm full frame Exmor R CMOS back-illuminated image sensor
• Sensitivity range: ISO100-ISO3200 (extended to 102400)
  
• In autofocus / auto exposure tracking mode, continuous shooting frame rate up to about 10 / sec
• The autofocus speed is increased by about 2 times , with the coke speed increased by about 2 times and support the focus control tracking
• Support dual media slot
• 399 focal plane phase detection focus
• 14bit RAW
• 15 stops Dynamic Range
• Battery capacity increased by about 2.2 times
• USB 3.1 Gen 1 is compatible with USB Type-CTM connector and flash terminal is synchronized
• The α7R III can capture outstanding 4K high resolution motion images with 5K (15MP) oversampling, as well as a new HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) image configuration file,
  Support real-time HDR workflow, can capture a wide dynamic range of high-precision fresh dynamic images, no color gradient processing.
• In the α7R III on the new pixel conversion multiple shooting mode, make full use of the fuselage 5-axis anti-shake function, to achieve high-resolution images. It’s 100% confirmed! Sony will announce the new A7rIII today! At exactly 10am NYC time! Join our Sony A7III group and Sony A7III page now! Specs are unconfirmed but it should have increased MP number, new PDAF system, dual slot, touchscreen, joystick control. Basically a sort of Nikon D850 killer? :)

Sony will also announce the long time rumored 400mm f/2.8 FE  and a 24-105mm f/4.0 G lens!

To sum up this is what we are going to get today:

• A7R III
• FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS
• FE 400mm F2.8 GM (Sony will announce it as “under development”)

First a disclaimer: The following rumors are from three trusted sources whom shared correct rumors in the past (STF rumor, 85mm FE rumors and Sept 12 RX rumor). But still, in the light of the recent misses I will rank this rumor with 50% chance of being true only. They might also got wrong info from their “Sony contacts”. So please be cautious as we have yet no 100% confirmation about what’s going to be announced tomorrow (Oct 25 at 10am NYC time).

Source 1: A7III:

This is from one Asian source who correctly shared the STF lens specs and said a new RX would be announced on the Sept 12 event. He said he is yet not 100% sure but last time his Sony source told him a7III would come by end 2017 with those specs:

24Mpx
6fps with mechanical shutter (NO 20fps electronic mode!)
693 phase detection AF
touchscreen and joystick control
expanded ISO is 204800
4k 30p recording
EV-3

I don’t know if that’s the camera we will get at tomorrows Sony announcement or if Sony delayed the camera launch.

Source 2: Telephoto lens

It also seems that a new telephoto lens (400mm FE?) could be announced tomorrow.

Source 3: a7sIII

He said he doesn’t have any info about tomorrow announcement. All he knows from Sony is that the A7sIII would be launched soon.

Keep in mind: All we know for sure is that tomorrow Sony will have a major press event. And that Sony registered two new camera codes in Asia hinting that one or two cameras might be announced tomorrow. I give it a 50% chance that tomorrow we will get a new A7III or A7sIII, RX100mVI and 400mm telephoto lens. Unless I can get a confirmation to upgrade the rumors to SR5 don’t  hold me accountable on those rumors I summed up un this post.

Sigma’s new roadmap shows a new lens “under development”. This lens appears to clearly be a new 50mm f/1.4 APS-C E-mount lens and it will be released in 2018. Surely a good news for all A6/5xxx camera owners!

This would become the third f/1.4 lens from Sigma after the already on market 30mm (here on Amazon) and today’s new 16mm.

These are the first images of the new Sigma 16mm f/1.4 APS-C E-mount lens. Sigma will announce the lens the upcoming days!

A source just told us that this is actually the lens we rumored a while ago. So this is a lens made by Sigma and not made by Sony!

A chinese reader just noticed that Sony registered a new camera code “WW541200” in Asia.

This means we now have two new codes:
WW541200 (no info on original registration country)
WW940439 (Original registration in China)

It’s important to note that cameras registered first in China are usually RX or compact cameras. While System Cameras are registered first in Japan. This means the “WW940439” code is likely for a new RX camera that will be announced soon. No guarantee yet on what the other two codes are about…
