The following rumor is from a very good Tamron source. The source shared the following very interesting info:

– Tamron is working on a new SP.2 lens line. It is made to resolve the High resolution Full Frame sensors coming from Sony. In detail Sony told Tamron that it’s “around” 46 megapixel.
– The 15-30mm f/2.8 DI VC USD lens Tamron announced at Photokina is the first of the new SP.2 line. It will work fine on those new Sony 50MP FF cameras.
– Tamron is also working on the design of two prime lenses that can resolve such a resolution.

Also interesting: The source said that Sony sensor will come for both A and E-mount FF cameras. Although he could not tell me which camera will come first and when it will be released.

Note: The source is trustworthy because he shared the 15-30mm f/2.8 lens info before the announcement. Back at Photokina I didn’t post the info because it was of the many new sources with rumors I could not confirm via trusted sources.

(SR0) Real world peace will come before you see this: Fake 12mm T/1.0 OSS FE lens :)

Bildschirmfoto 2014-12-06 um 08.03.30

Latter 21 shared that pictures and specs of a 12mm T/1.0 FE lens (Source: Cnbeta). This is 99,99999% likely to be fake :)  If for some very unlikely reason Sony would  really release such a lens it owuld certainly be amazing. But having a T/1.0 aperture a 12mm (for FF) is something never seen before on this world. And with OSS?  Sorry guys, but this is as fake as it gets :)

Anyway, just for fun…here are the full fake specs:
Lens Mount Type : Sony E-mount (35mm full frame)
Lens Stabilization : Optical SteadyShot
Aperture (Max.) : T/1
Aperture (Min.) : T/22
Focal Length (35mm equivalent) : 12mm (35mm)
Aperture Blade : 15 blades (Circular aperture)(Stepless aperture)
Angle of View :122°(35mm)
Minimum Focus Distance : 7.88″ (AF/MF) 0.2m
Lens compensation : Equivalent to 3 steps
Filter Diameter : 125mm
Dimensions (Approx.) : 6-2/5″ × 7+1/10″ (142 x 180mm)
Lens Weight : 49.6 oz. (1405 g)

As you SR0 is not even in our rumor ranking :)

Competition rumors: Also Canon may launches a sort of Sony A9 alike High megapixel camera…

It’s going to be a very tough battle between Sony and Canon next year. Rumor has it that there will be very soon “leaks” about a Canon Sony A9 alike competition camera. It’s mirrorless, full frame and has a 50MP sensor. The Sony A9 is still scheduled for an early 2015 launch (likely February?).

Sigma (finally!) is seriously considering to make lenses for the Sony FE system.

Sigma CEO Kazuto Yamaki has been interviewed at Imaging Resource. And he finally hints that the making lenses for E-mount system is possible because “there aren’t so many lenses”  in the system and “we get lots of requests” to make lenses for E-mount. He also said that taking current Sigma FF lenses and make them E-mount “would be very helpful“.

Still, Kazuto Yamaki also recently stated that “E-mount diameter is small and makes it difficult to design high quality Full Frame lenses” (Full SAR article here). So let’s ee if Sigma will take the final step and really make those FE lenses…

(SR5) Sony’s new A-mount FF is an “evolution” of the A99. Has no “Foveon” sensor and no Z-shift.

I can confirm via a very highly trusted source that Sony is working on a new Full Frame A-mount camera. He told me that this camera is still in prototype stage and will not introduced along the Sony A9 (E-mount FF) which is likely to come in February already. He also told me the camera is an evolution of the current A99 and not a “revolution” as some may expected. This means it has no Z-shift or no “Foveon” alike sensor for example. He also told me E-mount is priority yet and he hasn’t been told if and when the camera will be announced.

My guess is that it’s coming the second half of 2015.

Big Megapixel war: Sony 46 versus Canon 50 megapixel cameras.

There are more and more rumors confirming the High Megapixel war will tak place during the first half of 2015. And it will be a big Sony versus Canon battle. Sony should release a close to 50 megapixel sensor while Canon will also offer one (or maybe two) such cameras (Canonwatch).

I am yet not sure if it’s the upcoming Sony A9 E-mount FF that will feature that “almost” 50 Megapixel sensor. But it’s certainly going to be a hell of a rumor time after Christmas here on SAR!
