What you see here on top is the [shoplink 14656 ebay]Mitakon 35mm f/0.95 lens for ASP-C E-mount cameras (they are on auction here on eBay)[/shoplink]. Some image samples can be seen here and a short SAR reader review here.

Well, we just learned that Mitakon is developing a new 50mm f/0.95 Full Frame E-mount lens! This will become the first native E-mount Überfast lens. Of course Image Quality will by miles away from the $11.000 Leica Noctliux. But if it is as good (or as bad) as the current 35mm Mitakon than it may become an interesting lens after all.

The lens will be announced in mid 2014. Price is yet not known.

(SR5) Sony sensor revolution: First “non-Bayer” sensors coming in 2015.

Sony is heavily investing in a brand new sensor tech that will likely find his way in production cameras as early as 2015. I already told you a couple of weeks ago that Sony developed a 54 Megapixel sensor with on sensor PDAF. Well today I have been told by a very trusted sources that this sensor is also the first that has not been designed with a classic RGB (Bayer) pixel structure.

The well trusted source told me that Sony’s plan is to keep using 24MP and 36MP FF sensor on the new A and E-mount cameras that will be announced in 2014 and early 2015. It will also depend from the competition whether Sony will launch the camera with the new sensor in late 2015 or during 2016.

In short, after many years of classic RGB sensor structure (with the exception from Sigmas Foveon tech) we will get a real major leap forward in sensor imaging tech.

I hope to get details soon!

Lens news: First 200 Zeiss 55mm lenses sold out in two minutes in Korea! New Tamron Superzoom MTF charts

Tamron 150-600mm
DicaHub shared the MTF charts of the new Tamron 150-600mm lens that will also be available as A-mount. That looks very decent for such an Überzoom lens!

P.S.: The A-mount lens is now listed at BHphoto (Click here).

Zeiss 55mm FE:
You remember that Sony Korea teaser? Well it was for the first 200 Zeiss 55mm FE lenses that would be sold online on Dec 4. A source wrote that the 200 lenses were sold out within 2 minutes.

(SR4) 24-105 f/4 FF A-mount coming end 2014.

This is the Sigma 24-105mm A-mount lens

Along with the new A-mount Full Frame camera Sony will also launch the 24-105 f/4.0 Full Frame A-mount lens! It will be sold also as kit lens with the new camera. It will have a hard time to beat the performance of the new Sigma 24-105mm lens. This one is available in A-mount too at Amazon (Click here), BHphoto (Click here) and Adorama (Click here).

(SR4) First specs about the new Sony 54 Megapixel Full Frame sensor!

One of my sources told me that Sony developed a new 54 Megapixel Full Frame sensor. It has 2460 focusing points (no joke!) and the focusing area covers 78% of the entire sensor. The sensor is still very expensive to manufacture. But if Sony will manage to lower the production costs that sensor could find his way in 2015-2016 A and E-mount cameras.

Reminder: Plenty of new cameras and lenses will be announced in January-February. There will be A and E-mount cameras, both Full Frame and APS-C. Stay tuned on SAR ;)

(SR4) Zeiss working on five manual focusing FE lenses (launch Photokina 2014)

A couple of weeks ago Zeiss announced on their Facebook page that they are already working “on manual focus lenses for these new full-frame CSCs. They will have an interface to provide EXIF data to the camera. They are expected to be in stores by the end of 2014. However, we cannot provide any additional infos right now.”

One of our sources told us that they plan to launch five(!) FE prime lenses at Photokina 2014. They will be expensive but also top quality lenses. This is my wishlist: 15mm f/4.0, 21mm f/2.0, 35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4. Thanks in advance Zeiss for following my wish list suggestions ;)
