Three Sony accessories in Stock

Back in June Sony announced three new accessories along the new [shoplink 7207]Sony NEX-C3[/shoplink] camera. I don’t think I ever told you that all the three new items are in Stock. Here are the links:
Sony VCT-55LH Mounting Bracket with Accessory Shoe [shopcountry 9322].
Sony LCS-AMB/B Alpha Soft Carrying Case [shopcountry 9323].
Sony HVL-F43AM Flash [shopcountry 9324].

(SR4) Sony FF with 36 Megapixel sensor coming early 2012 (Nikon D800 with same sensor).

Finally we can start to talk about “serious” full-frame rumors coming from trusted sources. First, our Japanese friend and administrator of DigitalCameraInfo (Click here) got an interesting info about the upcoming Nikon D800. The rumor confirms what we told you back in June: Sony developed a new 36 Megapixel sensor that is going to be used inside the next Nikon FF camera (Click here to read the original article).

And now the good news: I have been told by our sources that Sony will first share the sensor to Nikon and than use it on their own FF camera which will be announced early 2012! The exact release date has not been chosen yet but I have been told there are is a huge pressure to release it as soon as possible. Compared to the Nikon D800 the Sony (A99?) will have slightly different specs and a lower(!) price. The Nikon D800 can take 4 frames per second, records 1920 × 1080/30p and cost 300.000 Yen (3.000 Euro, or $4000). The major difference is that Nikon has an optical viewfinder while the Sony has SLT technology. Meanwhile the [shoplink 3028]Sony A900[/shoplink] has been discontinued and you will see some nice rebates soon. I will keep you updated with specs and news I am getting form my sources. It’s really an exciting time ;)

One more thing: New lenses will be released along the new Full Frame camera!

Sony A900 officially discontinued!

Good news folks! After the [shoplink 3028]Sony A850[/shoplink] also the [shoplink 3032]Sony A900[/shoplink] has been discontinued! Sony Japan (Click here to read the translation) confirmed that they finished the A900 camera production. Why is that good news? Because I have been told by top sources that this is happening because the A900 will now get some price drops and after that you will see the new ff camera.

In these last 10 days I worked on new FF, NEX and lens rumors. I thank the sources for their help and I thank your reader for your patience. It’s a lot of work to get rumors and I also try to doublecheck the info I get to avoid big mistakes. And now it’s time to open the new rumor season to see what’s coming next. From what I know right now (and I haven’t told you anything yet) there are only good news. Many good news!

Stay tuned on SAR!

Good news! New A77 firmware coming soon (From Asia: coming tomorrow???)

C. Garrarad had a small talk with Sony and wrote on Alphamountworld: “it is confirmed that they are working on a new firmware update for the new cameras announced with the 24mp sensor. We didn’t get into specifics but there will DEFINITELY be a new firmware version for them to address issues.“.

And if we are really “lucky” than the new firmware (version 1.03) should be out…TOMORROW! This according to a source of mobile01.

The new firmware will hopefully fix all issues we talked about in these days. As you know the problems was that the 1.02 firmware wasn’t updated for the new BIONZ processor which is used for the production camera. The pre production camera had a slightly different processor.

UPDATE: Camera RAW and Lightroom 6.5 now support the A77!!! More at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

If the “rumors” are true than you can avoid to cancel your preorders or if you already have done it than click those links to check for preorder options: [shopcountry 8461].

(SR2) Surprise! Will there be a Sony A75 soon???

What the hell is that? Another APS-C model called A75? That leak is coming directly via Sony websites. See here: http://www.sony.net/Products/Linux/DI/SLT-A75.html. Could it be a typo? Hm, if it would be in text my answer would be maybe yes. But fact is that also the URL contains the same name! I hope to get more news via my trusted sources very soon! Stay tuned!

P.S.: Imagine the A75 having the [shoplink 8461]Sony A77[/shoplink] body and [shoplink 8452]Sony NEX-5n[/shoplink] sensor. That would be something cool or not?

(SR4) New Noktor HyperPrime 23mm f/1.7 lens coming soon?

On top: The very first picture(?) taken with the (preproduction) Noktor HyperPrime 23mm f/1.7 for NEX (Click on picture to enlarge).

We have been just told by our sources that there will be a new E-mount Noktor 23mm f/1.7 lens coming soon. The design is based on cinema lens, that means it has  a 12 aperture blades that will make a perfectly round aperture opening. The lens will be available in December for around $499. It has a minimum focus distance of 10cm.

The lens is made by the Chinese company SLRmagic which already makes the [shoplink 7109 ebay]35mm f/1.7 for NEX (available on eBay)[/shoplink].

C.Garrard: Sony is aware that we need pancakes for the NEX system.

The latest Sony ENX lens roadmap shows the three upcoming new lenses, the G standard zoom, the die angle zoom and mid telephoto lens. Those are lenses that will appeal consumers more than enthusiast or professionists. But I am still hoping Sony will also announce some fast lens and panckes as soon as possible. Carl Garrard has a small talk with Sony and told them: “I let Sony know there is a big desire for smaller lenses for the NEX system, and in the end of that conversation I came to the conclusion that it’s not like they aren’t aware of this desire/need. I was told that their lens engineers are at full throttle trying to keep up with designing lenses for both the Alpha and NEX systems. “That’s fine” I said, “But the consumer wants smaller lenses now- maybe Sony ought to think about prioritizing that demand” I added.” (Source: Dpreview forum).

Now let’s hope Sony will respond my (and your) call for pancakes!
