I am still working to get a 100% prove that the leaked images are real. Some new sources said yes the images are all real. And don’t get confused by that “NO” button. The NEX-7 you saw was a prototype and it looks like this was a deliberated choice (weird!). I am sure my trusted sources will soon tell me more about the pics! My guess now is that all leaked pictures are real. But just wait a bit until I can give you the 100% reliable confirmation!

The only “SR5 thing” I can say is that I have been told the NEX-7 has definitely a built-in viewfinder and a very [shoplink 6075]Fuji X100[/shoplink] look! And another new source told me the [shoplink 3003]NEX-5[/shoplink] replacement will actually be called the NEX5N and not the NEX5E.

My sources finally allowed me to post a small rumor that in my opinion is the very first step to a revolution. I can post it on Monday at 10am London time. Do not expect a picture or detailed specs. It’s a small rumor, but when you think about it could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back!

One of our reader (Thanks Clement!) just rechecked the Sonyservice Canada website and found three new codes:
NEX5N (This is probably the new code fot the upcoming new NEX-5E)
NEXVG20 (This should be the [shoplink 3058]Sony NEX-VG10[/shoplink] successor)
SEL55210 (This is the 55-210mm lens for NEX).

Now let’s hope Sony Canada will soon add the new A77 and NEX-7 codes too ;)

I just got the link to the following NEX-7 picture! I have been told this is a preproduction version! One of my sources said the image is original but the final model could have some differences!!! As you see the NEX-7 has a rangefinder style a là [shoplink 6075 ebay]Fuji X100 (Click here to see that camera)[/shoplink]! As you know the NEX-7 will feature the same A77 24 Megapixel sensor and a 3 million dot OLED EVF (it is not a hybrid viewfinder!). It has the Zeiss 24mm f/1.8 attached (but that is also a prototype). The camera should cost around $1.200.

The Megapixel war will never be over. Pixelnumbers will increase and the size of the pixel decrease. One of the downside is that the diffraction limit will get worser and worser. Sony had an idea on how to use a special refractive element positioned between the lens and the sensor. You can read more at Egami (google english translation).

Yesterday a new source told us that Sony will announce the NEX-5E and NEX-7 in August. In the meanwhile our trusted sources confirmed that the rumor is correct! They said the NEX-7 price is still not 100% deifnitve ($1.200 with kit lens) but they added that both new cameras will be available in October.

Sony NEX-5. Is going to be replaced by the NEX-5E and is currently discounted (at least in US). Check [shopcountry 3003].
