October Full frame mirrorless share: Sony 67%, Canon 22% and Nikon 10%

Now we know what impact the new Canon and Nikon Full Frame cameras had in Japan. BCNrankingy published the Full Frame mirrorless sales data for the month of October (for Japan only). With the introduction of the new EOS-R and Z7 cameras the Sony FF mirrorless share dropped from 99,5% (0,5% is Leica) down to 67%. Canon owns 22% and Nikon 10%.

This is a big impact also because Sony has not introduced any new FF camera at Photokina or Photoplus. It will be interesting to see if Canon and/or Nikon will be able to match Sony sales in 2019. What’s your bet on this?

An anonymous source sent us this first image of the new 7Artisans 60mm f/2.8 macro APS-C E-mount lens. There is no info on the pricing and availability date yet.

Just recently 7Artisans launched the 35mm f/1.2 lens which is now in Stock at Amazon US, Amazon DE, Amazon FR, Amazon UK, Amazon IT, Amazon ES.

Note: The description above contains an erorr when describing the Lens construction. This is a screenshot from a beta page. So It is still under construction and mistakes will be fixed.

Today I compared 5 of the latest mirrorless cameras in regards of 4K low light high iso noise comparison. I test the Sony A7III, Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 4K, Canon EOS R, Nikon Z7, and Fujifilm X-T3. These cameras are a mix of full frame, APS-C and 4/3 sensors but the EOS R crops into a factor of 1.78 which results in decreased low light performance and the Nikon Z7 doesn’t use all the data from the sensor. Take a look at the side by side low light comparison footage between these cameras and let me know your thoughts in the description below.
