This week Sony issued a new 2.0 firmware update for the A7III and A7rIII. But if you are using third party batteries be aware that there a multiple reports of issues:

1) Some batteries are still allowed to be used but the camera won’t show you how much battery life is left and there will be a pop up reminder from time to time

2) Some are completely useless. The camera tells you this battery is not qualified and automatically shut down

Lensvid interviewed Sony at Photokina. Here are some key info:

1) 50% of the Full Frame market share in Europe. And Number 1 worldwide.
2) Sony is thinking about a solution on how to reintegrate the Playmemories APP function.
3) If customers will request the integration of a top lcd screen we will add it on future cameras
4) New A to E-mount adapter development is not planned

Fuji announced the development of the new GFX-100 medium format camera. I find it weird they will go with an integrated vertical grip. Still, this is going to be an exciting camera using the new Sony 100 megapixels that has on sensor phase detection pixels. Moreover it will be the first medium format camera with IBIS.
