Photokina announces the 2018 September and 2019 May show dates

Photokina announced their show dates for 2018 and 2019. As you probably know Photokina is now taking place on a yearly basis in May. With the next 2018 event being the last taking place in September.
At Dpreview there is an interview with the Photokina manager that explains why we see those changes. What’s clear is that “classic” photography is going to have less of a key role the upcoming years.
New firmware update for the Sigma MC-11 adapter

Sigma issued a new firmware update (download here) for the MC-11 adapter:
This firmware update corrects the phenomenon that AF does not operate properly when some lenses that are not compatible with the MC-11 are attached. This firmware update does not guarantee accurate operation with lenses that are not compatible with the MC-11.

First Back to School Sony savings

(SR4) Tokina Super Wide and fast wide FE lenses will ship in early 2018

We have been told by a source that Tokina’s next FE lenses (a Super Wide and a fast wide FE autofocus lens) will ship in very early 2018 only even if the announcement will be made in late 2017. Tokina firsts wants to have the time to evaluate the sales of the new 20mm f/2.0 FE lens (here at BHphoto).
Reminder: Tokina will also launch a Zoom FE autofocus lens in 2018.
