The new magnetic camera sling is now available on Kickstarter (Click here). It’s the world’s first zipper-free magnetic sling, designed for fast-shooting photographers and everyday adventurers who demand instant access, serious protection, and clean, minimalist style—all in one.
On June 17 Sigma will announce the new 12mm f/1.4 and 17-40mm f/1.8 E-mount APS-C lenses. Here are more detailed specs about this new fast zoom lens.
17-40mm f/1.8 E

manufactured with advanced polishing technology to minimize chromatic aberration, flare, distortion
Aperture ring, with declick
sealed against dust and splashes
excellent sharpness from corner to corner already at f/1.8
HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) autofocus motor (fast, silent and accurate)
excellent control over focus breathing
Internal Zoom
Size: 115.9mm long, maximum diameter 72.9mm
67mm filter
weight: 535g
Shipment start in July
So this lens is 5mm shorter, 5mm narrower and 275g lighter than the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens. And this despite it having 1mm more at the wide end and 5mm more reach at the tele end. Impressive!
Sigma continues to push forward with the release of new lenses, and today I have some exclusive, exciting news to share with you! On June 17, at the BildExpo event (register here) Sigma will announce new lenses:
I have to say that the 17-40mm f/1.8 is particularly exciting as it offers APS-C camera owners the light gathering ability and bokeh quality of an f/2.8 FF lens. Impressive! This lens will probably be optically better and more compact than the legendary 18-35mm f/1.8.
ONE MORE RUMOR:
Sigma is supposed to hold another product announcement event in August/September that will focus more on new full frame lenses. There are rumors of four new FF lenses, I don’t know if 1-2 of them will be unveiled or announced on June 17:
On 23 May, Sony officially registered a new code for a camera that has not yet been released (see image above). In total, we now have three official camera codes in China. One of these is for the newly announced Sony FX2 (we still need to find out which one). This means that at least two cameras will be announced in the next 3-4 months. Here are the details of these registrations:
Code “WW934774” manufactured by Sony Shanghai and registered on on April 21: Cinema line and video products such as FX9 and FX6
Code “WW697160” manufactured by Sony Japan and registered on May 9: Usually those are for high-end products such as the α1II, α9 III, and A7rV
Code “WW084220” manufactured by Sony Wuxi and registered on May 23: Low to mid-range products such as ZV-1F, ZV-E10M2, α7 IV, and α7C
All we learn from these registrations is that all cameras do support dual band (which means there is no entry level camera) and that we will get two more camera announcements between June and September. My guess is that the Sony FX2 is manufactured in Shanghai, China (WW934774). This leaves us with a high-end camera manufactured in Japan and a mid-to-low-end product manufactured in Wuxi. Here is a list of candidates:
Code “WW697160” registered by Sony Japan could be for a new Sony A7sIV, RX1rIII, Sony A7rVI
Code “WW084220” registered by Sony Wuxi: Low to mid-range products such as ZV-E1II, A7V
My guess is that one of the camera codes is for the A7V while I am really unsure about the new high end camera manufactured in Japan. I was expecting to get a new A7rVI in 2026 only. So egoistically speaking I am hoping for a miraculous RX1rIII :)
What are your thoughts on this…what cameras do you hope to get?
