Zeiss just posted a set of new pictures and one of those pictures seems to have been taken with a new 85mm f/1.2 G SSM II lens. UPDATE: The mystery is solved! The [shoplink 41374 ebay]Metabones adapter[/shoplink] is “faking” the EXIF data of the [shoplink 41344 ebay]Canon 85mm f/1.2 lens[/shoplink] and makes it appear as an SSM II lens. That way Sony cameras can “handle” the lens information.

UPDATE: All I know from trusted sources is that indeed Sony’s plan is to launch a new 85mm lens. Don’t knwo if it’s A or E-mount yet.

Canon launched the EOS-M10 entry level camera that is set to compete against the Sony A5xxx series.

I have to say I’m quite impressed with the camera’s dynamic range using S-Log2 and the way it handles incredibly high ISO. The video is really dark, mostly black & red, and Youtube kinda messed the final result with their compression, but the images out of the camera and end results after grading are quite amazing.

A highly trusted source told me he just got an invitation for a Sony conference tomorrow (Wednesday Oct 14). He can’t unveil any details about it. So please don’t get too excited for now.

UPDATE: Not sure if Sony will show new lenses or just a press conference about the soon to ship new Sony A7sII.

UPDATE_2: Another good source said that’s a “major event”. And he “believes” new lenses will be announced!

UPDATE_3: Major Sony Japan managers are invited for the presnetation. Sounds a bit too “Big” for just an A7sII talk!

P.S.: Tomorrow at 11:00 Berlin time Zeiss will announce the new Otus 28mm f/1.4 lens.
