Mariano:i’ve been a long time reader and long time canon user. but that started to change 2 years ago, and this year, i’ve finally made the switch to an all-sony mirrorless system. i see that it’s a common experience lately, but there are a lot of photographers that are still skeptical about going mirrorless. i started a blog about my observations on the switch that i thought your readers might find interesting. my hope is that it will be helpful for anyone contemplating about doing the same thing. Zeiss product release event by end of this week (Diglloyd). Wide angle Otus and Loxia coming?

Share

loxia-35mm

On Friday (9am Berlin time) Sony will announce their new (FF?) E-mount camcorder. But there will be another announcement from Zeiss too: Diglloyd confirmed that Zeiss will have a product announcement by end of this week. And we can really hope this is where we will also see the announcement of the new wide angle Loxia FE lens! Knowing Zeiss the lens will have one of the specs “Borrowed” from the ZM series:

Canon will make 8K camcorder and 120MP FF DSLR…sometimes in the future.

Bildschirmfoto 2015-09-08 um 10.26.41

UPDATE: I made some fun in my previous article and some people didn’t get it. I therefore now redacted the article to make it more “serious”.

Today Canon  said they ar developing a 8K Cinema Camera: “that will support the production of next-generation 8K video content” and MP FF camera: ” The high-resolution images that the camera will be capable of producing will recreate the three-dimensional texture, feel and presence of subjects, making them appear as if they are really before one’s eyes. The camera will facilitate a level of resolution that is more than sufficient for enlarged poster-sized printout while also enabling images to be cropped and trimmed without sacrificing image resolution and clarity.” Real product announcement? No. Release? No info…. (via MirrorlessRumors).

Reminder: Back in 2010 Canon announced a 120MP APS-H sensor (Source: Canon). And that sensor never found it’s way in a real camera to date. So let’s see if and when they will actually release the 8K camcorder and 120MP FF camera…

You can follow Sony’s press conference at 9am CET on 11 September!

Share

SonyIBC

On September 11 at 9am CET time Sony will have a press conference at the IBC show in Amsterdam. And you can follow the event live on the following Sony Uk page. I will also embed the live streaming on SAR.

Sony will ddefinitely announce a new E-mount 4K camcorder. There is a very small chance the might announce the A6xxx too. There is almost near zero chance to see the new A7sII. The PhotoPlus show in October is the more “ideal” place to announce the A7sII.
