Zeiss says new Loxia wide and tele primes will come by end 2015!

Zeiss Loxia Lenses — BandPro 2014 from Clint Milby on Vimeo.

Hdslrshooter interviewed the Zeiss US manager and he spilled out some info about the future Loxia lenses (just watch the full video on top). He said a wide and a tele prime lens are very likely to come. And he “believes” those lenses will be on market by end 2015. We don’t know yet if those lenses will be “based” on the ZM line just like it happened with the other two Planar 50mm and Biogon 35mm primes. But let’s take a look at the ZM lens range:

Wide primes:
[shoplink 10875 ebay]Distagon T* 2,8/15 ZM (Click here to see images on eBay)[/shoplink].
[shoplink 9803 ebay]Distagon T* 4/18 ZM (Click here to see images on eBay)[/shoplink].
[shoplink 9804 ebay]Biogon T* 2,8/21 ZM (Click here to see images on eBay)[/shoplink].
[shoplink 9804 ebay]C Biogon T* 4,5/21 ZM (Click here to see images on eBay)[/shoplink].
[shoplink 9805 ebay]Biogon T* 2,8/25 ZM (Click here to see images on eBay)[/shoplink].
[shoplink 9806 ebay]Biogon T* 2,8/28 ZM (Click here to see images on eBay)[/shoplink].

Tele primes:
[shoplink 9810 ebay]Sonnar T* 2/85 ZM (Click here to see price on eBay)[/shoplink].
[shoplink 9810 ebay]Tele-Tessar T* 4/85 ZM (Click here to see price on eBay)[/shoplink].

I would really like to see the 21mm f/2.8 and the 85mm f/2.0 :) And you?

Atomos 4K and A7s double review at Newshooter and EosHD.

Sony a7S/ Atomos Shogun 4K And HD Test from Matthew Allard ACS on Vimeo.

We have two new A7s with Atomos 4K recorder test and as you will read the reviewers conclusions are not very positive:

Newshooter (Click here) writes:

Overall the Shogun ticks a lot of boxes and I think most users will be very happy with it. At the end of the day the Shogun delivers what it promises – 4K recording on a budget, a great screen and easy to use interface.

EosHD writes:

I’m learning as I go when it comes to the feel of the images and how it compares to the 1D C, GH4 and NX1 in 4K. So far the A7S 4K image to the Shogun has impressed but it isn’t as good as the 1D C. I think it’s great for enthusiasts and low-budget filmmakers who want to max out image quality on the A7S. But for me the shortcomings are significant

And a bug report: FYI on how the Sony a7S breaks SLog 2 when outputting via HDMI (Atomos Forum).
