This is a small surprise: Mitakon already announced a new “PRO” version of the superfast 50mm f/0.95 Speedmaster Full Frame E-mount lens! The current version sells for $849 at BHphoto or $899 on [shoplink 27366 ebay]eBay[/shoplink]. The lens will be named “The Dark Knight” and have these three major upgrades:

1. Improved lens coating, which makes the lens have better performance
2. Filter thread changed to 67mm from 58mm
3. New bayonet lens hood to prevent light flare and improve “back light “s situation performance.

What you see here is the first image of the new Sony A5100! And as expected there is no design change compared with the current Sony A5000. The camera will be announced on August 19 according to Sony Hong Kong. Specs are coming soon…

(SR4) Fast 85mm FE lens prime is on roadmap (to be disclosed at Photokina).

A FAKE rendering of a possible Sony 85mm f/1.8 FE lens (Source: Xitek.).

According to one source Sony will disclose a new FE lens roadmap right before Photokina. And he said there will be certainly a fast 85mm prime. He didn’t unveil specs and pricing info about the lens. Very unreliable rumor floating around the web say this could be a Zeiss 85mm f/1.8 lens. One thing is sure: Sony FE lens designer Naoki Miyagawa said he is “dreaming” about an ultra fast 85mm FE lens (Source: Lesnumeriques –google translation here).

RX1s and RX1k Fake image warning :)

It’s Photokina time and therefore false leaks are spreading on the web! A couple of readers sent me the link to the Xitek forum where someone posted images of the RX1s and RX1k. Before you get fooled about them know that these are obviously FAKE home-made images :)

It doesn’t mean the RX1s and RX1k may not become true soon!
